- Description
- Episode Description
- Dr. Cecilio Orozco, an education professor at Fresno State University and an expert on Mexican and U.S. history, talked about his belief that July 4th should be celebrated along with September 16, the anniversary of Mexico's Independence, since for the southwestern states this was really its independence. Dr. Orozco also discussed the need for Latino teachers to learn more about Mexico's history, so that they can provide pride and knowledge of their roots to young Latino students.
