Thank you. You're listening to In Black America, Reflections of the Black Experience in American Society. You're listening to In Black America,
Reflections of the Black Experience in American Society. Jazz saxophone is David Fadhead Newman, comes from the Texas Riverland Blues School of Sax playing. Newman spent a considerable amount of time with fans led by Teibon Walker and Ray Charles. David Fadhead Newman is capable of preaching the blues gospel on a variety of horns, but his strong tenor sax work carries his message the best. Newman doesn't exactly break many stylistic barriers. He merely blends them together. While there's no denying the blues foundation of his playing, Newman can break loose the bopping jazz break when the mood moves in. I'm John Hanson, and this week our focus is on jazz saxophonists David Fadhead Newman in Black America. music playing music playing
