The collapse of Enron Corp., the largest bankruptcy in U.S. history, is an unfolding scandal that begins to shake Washington. Public-interest groups are calling for an in-depth investigation to probe Enron’s connections to the California energy crisis and to political corruption. They also call for reforms to hold corporations to public accountability.
