En Camino visits several vineyards that employ Hispanic laborers to investigate the inhuman working conditions, including very low salaries for long and arduous work days under the sun, without water to drink or wash their hands, without sanitary services, being exposed to dangerous chemicals and fertilizers, denied medical coverage even when it is mandated by law, dismissal for being ill or injured, and many other illegal practices. This subject closes with general information for farm-workers about labor laws, workers' rights, resources to demand their rights as well as advice regarding chemical and pesticide management.The following segment introduces the Center for Hispanic Culture in Marin, California, which works to perpetuate Latin culture, history and folklore. Offers a great variety of courses and services, traditional Latin-American articles and clothing, and is headquarters for La Voz Hispana, a newspaper in Spanish that provides information to the Hispanic community.The episode closes with a presentation and interview with the Chilean Musical Group Quilapayun.
