Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Hey, did you told me where I'm going? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Hello, Pleasant. Good evening. Welcome to another edition of Friday Night Jazz on Vermont Public Radio. I'm your host, Ruben Jackson. As always, happy Friday. Thank you so much for tuning in. We'll be here from now until 11 p.m.
Friday Night Jazz on Vermont Public Radio is made possible by Ellis Music of Bethel Vermont, specializing in sales, service and rental of musical instruments to schools and individuals throughout New England. Beginning tonight's show, one of the great tendoms in music, Gil Scott Heron and Brian Jackson from Bridges, Gil Scott Heron on vocals, and his original Hello Sunday, Hello Road, Hello Vermont and all the ships at C. Thanks again for tuning in. Oh, man, it's always so much fun to be here and, you know, just teeing up this music and sharing it with you. I'm just, I'm just so thrilled where my hair is standing on and I have no hair. Next, and I should say that the remainder of the releases this hour will be new releases. Next up, connected with the opening piece by Gil Scott Heron and Brian Jackson, vocalist Sharnay Wade from offering the music of Gil Scott Heron and Brian Jackson, her reading of a piece which appeared on the initial recording that tandem made for Errister Records signed by Clive Davis. I remember seeing them on Saturday Night Live in 1975, they did, oh my goodness, this was wonderful.
They did Johannesburg. That was actually on the recording which followed this one. Nonetheless, what will hear the Gil Scott Heron, Brian Jackson composition? Ain't no such thing as Superman. You have understood the riddles of the ages. Yes, and you have understood the universal night. You have placed your footprints on the everlasting sands of time. Yes, so tell me why, why can't you understand? There ain't no such thing, no such thing as a Superman.
You was on the night. You went to see great Egypt fall. It fell right down to the ground. And you was out there on the corner when being good with light. You were born to understand that if we're going to win, we've got to win together. Stay together, be together, stick together. So tell me why, why can't you understand? There ain't no such thing, no such thing. And there ain't no such thing as a Superman.
