Harvey Danger is our band of the evening tonight. Tell us a little bit about the early days and when and how you all got together. Jeff-Jack Well we started on air and we figured that would be fun to start a band so we. Bought some instruments. Interesting is
we held the early practice practices late in the night in the communications lecture hall on the first floor of the communications building in the inner city Washington campus and this practice went on actually fairly regularly until well the promise we kept getting bolder and bolder and moved our practice up earlier and earlier until. So that's actually a start interrupting the broadcast of it as a friend's band followed suit and they practice at some o'clock one evening and it inadvertently got broadcast on. And so they called the police and that was the end of that they used to call the police. Well let's see what happens tonight Aaron how did the rest of these guys join it. Well about a year after Jeff and I started we were very serious for a while. We ran into Evan at the daily where we used to work and have a new show and we all kind of got together one night and played Velvet Underground's So it just kind of clicked and then all of a sudden they were in the
band so we should have been able to kick about it. John now you're the big singer guy and you've got nothing to hide behind except for your microphone there. And yeah in the music stand the lyrics but I'm wondering if that ever bugged you at first being on stage with with just you know not at all. I mean I've been campaigning to get these guys to kind of step a few feet back from the edge of you know I'm sick and I have absolutely no problem at all with with the on stage one. I even dropped out of the inner circle once. All there. That's a sure sign now being just a vocalist I wonder how what the songwriting is like and do you write any of the music or are they they writing lyrics. It's it's pretty it's actually it's very communal where everybody writes everything. It's really it's really nice that way because we there's no kind of dictate or action but it's it's kept us from being as prolific as we might be because you know all the songs
are accidents. To me he has. Now Jeff has been displaying his fine guitar ability throughout the show but you brought another guitar and I would love to hear a guitar solo on on that one guitar that boy he was playing a little bit earlier and just blown us all away and I just couldn't believe the talent this young man. And let's hear a little bit of this in my spare time and been working on a few few tricks here. Yeah big raw. Deal. That's the hardest working man in rock n roll Jeff Taylor. OK last question. Do you guys everything out recorded or what's the what's the story on that the process and. Yeah. We're hopefully next month we're going to record our first full length
CD. And yeah putting it out ourselves just so you know we can avoid the whole week. We want to be co-opted by the mayor and you know I don't want to insult the mayor and by the way. All right. More music from the band that loves the man. This ladies and gentlemen is the live room from Jack Straw studios. And this is Harvey Danger. The song is called terminal. One.
