When I. Was. Listening. To. The show. It'll.
Hey everybody. I'm not a rabbit. We're going to do one more we're going to go you know doing what we like. The other night like this. They already they're turning over the big reel so I guess we're going to the interview part now. All right thank you for alerting me. OK. The interview part. Ever got silly rabbit in the studio. OK. OK I'm standing in the middle gather around as long as the Phil Donahue microphone.
Yeah OK all right. Slow down yeah slow down there. OK let's let's go through the introductions quickly start with Dalal just work and you play this and we'll move on Lawrence. Anthony and vocals are cool. Dave and I play the guitar. Jason keyboard. Excellent and we I know we have an extra member of the band in the studio. Mike Mike in there is doing like he loves the media and doing a little bit of extra engineering in there. OK. A little of the history of the band origins and things Anthony. The origins of this band are we are rooted in tough Mama first thought cave fish is gonna punch culture shock and Thumper from Texas and basically been together two years. We're working on our fourth album
with Mike Todd and Greg of Scotty. There are producers doing a great job or plan to put out a CD in February or March. Like I said we've been together two years multiple members Spinal Tap right here. Exploding drummers exploding guitar players the works but we have a good time. We're trying to fuse a couple of interesting things technology in a live band and basically we have a really interesting time doing someone else. Yeah it's not really an easy band to categorize but but how do you go about trying to do that when when say you're trying to get a show at a club somebody who hasn't seen the band white boys. Oh yes pretty good Dave. That's all some of these wonderful newspapers around the city don't bother to go out and see the live shows. They should come out and see before I really think people should come out really check out bands before they describe. You know we point out the color box tonight and talk to some other people talk to Lawrence
Lawrence got to show kind of the color box what kind of what kind of bills are you guys usually on is it a lot of bands that because there really are a lot of bands do this kind of stuff. We try to mix it up with some punk bands some funk bands. Tonight's bill is soul purpose opening up and then the super sonic soul pimps both those bands sort of blend the same kind of things as we do. Funk Seattle alternative and maybe jump. Have you ever found yourselves doing a show where the where the audiences come to see a different band and you guys come on in and it's really not what they expect. And it was awful and we did the colors. With the three drummer acoustic thing this week it was like headlining and people stuck around because there you know. We pretty much know it was a cool show. People expected you know we did Bruce stock this summer great festival of microbrews and yeah we're like an nice little opening band in a really big
name band cancelled at the last minute. And so we got to play a little bit later and the crowd a lot of people never even heard about us because we have no promotional. We're always out of our tapes we're broke. Send money no pictures nobody goes and we get we had a really good time at that. A lot of people who are basically our problem is getting people to hear us because we got our music thing down but the business end has really sunk in. So yes you can can we suck is a word that you can use on the radio. And you guys thought about getting a manager I mean there are a lot of people it's really hard for us. Many big bands listening to the right bin as i do we really don't actually we don't care about the whole the big name thing what we really want is you know just if we get people involved like a manager we have seriously been considering it. It just you need someone who's really into your band. I mean a lot of bands you know they want to go for the glam thing some
L.A. company or something and it's not really about that to me I'd really like to find someone to help out with us that's like a really digs what we're doing. And yeah and known willing and willing to put a little and willing to put a little of their own effort in because we spend a lot of time practicing in a lot of times with a lot of local people you'll find that. We've had some I'm stuck here high enough. No you just. I know I just want people. I want people to work as hard for us as we do for ourselves and so that's what we're really trying to get out. But more organized than yourselves and way more organized the way I want to tell me that I am a little busy at the moment but call me in a month and I'll come again. Now with with the technology the guys are working with. How does how does that affect how how you write songs. Is it what you like to step up to the mike. It's been a long but really there's nothing to be frightened of. Go ahead. How does the technology that's being used in the band affect how the songs are written. Well we kind of
makes a lot of songs we actually start with technology and we write a song over there or vice versa. Like lately we've actually been recording the band and adding technology later. It's kind of it's fun. Dale I forgot to ask you about how do you how is it drumming with a drum machine is it. Go for it. That's a whole world. You can't say that on the air can you. Oh it's an ass kicker. It is because. A courtship keeps time a little differently than a human being. So. And the purpose of a live drummer then is to give it sort of an organic feel so you get to sort of be a slave to the click track into the sequences. You have to hold your own. And you know maybe. The time a little or let it fluctuate but not so much that it sounds terrible and it's kind of hard to tell where that line is.
Does it become kind of a John Henry battle between man and machine or is it more of a good relationship. No no yeah. No it's a good relationship I really enjoy it as it makes me play better. And there's so much you can do with sequences and click tracks that you can't do without. There's a million more options as it opens things up musically huge way and the thing is most people get intimidated about that stuff as drummers. And you know what people don't realize this is just another instrument. It's not you it's impossible. You know you still you have to hear rhythms in your head. You have to hear a groove you have to put it together and whether you're using sequences or live players it doesn't make any difference if you can't play you can't play as Mary does it with deejay. People of the local bands to me go second. I mean does it. Yeah a lot of rap bands don't even use live musicians and so for us you know
it's both things mixed with what we're going to get right back to the music or get a little role in as the hunt for a new city manager continues. Let's growly point go on with the audition. Are you ready. We've got more music I want to thank American music and the rocket for their continued support like I do every night and run no comment on the food tonight. We've got silly rabbit in this studio right see and hear some more music. Whatever it is these are some of our new new songs we just got done doing and. OK. I. It's a. Good time. Let's.
Get. On. With. This. Human nature. Of. The. Song. Which. Song. The good. Song. Here we go again. Good news with good news for you. Do you mean. What am I supposed to. Do With all that you do is make a list stories are. Saying the wrong. Thing and the talk just. Now you. Just. Saw the long. Ride. Home.
Tonight we're. Going to. Go with. What you. Do good. Has all these words. Yeah. I said that.
