It's 90.3 FM KEX PC at a matcha and bedhead together for a one EP and that was called Hey Goodbye and new music from the turn ons local band from their east album starting off That's it. My name is John Richards. You're listening to the morning show and I have Walked down the hallway to our performance space because there's a band waiting here and a great band one of my favorites Clem Snide is here looking very chipper as the yawn and make cell phone calls right before they get on the air another Nonsense, so they're gonna play some songs you guys are playing on Saturday. Yeah, and so you're here for a few days Yeah, we are. Yeah, so you got here a little early, which is nice It's tough when you got to come in here and then do the show that night So a little time to rest. So here's Clem Snide on 90.3 FM KEXP I've buried our love
In the backyard Until it falls, we could play cars Cause I know that it's hard when it's dark and cold And all that you feel is yourself getting old But summer will come without green and sweet and ice-taked Summer will come and beyond green with sweetness of this So feed me a kiss
Chapped lips and all, and I'll bring back the taste of an empire's fall Cause summer will come without green and sweet and ice-taked So summer will come and beyond green with the sweetness of this And I'll tie a string around my finger So I don't forget Not to get so tied up to the things that I'd regret Cause summer will come without green and sweet and ice-taked
So summer will come and beyond green with the sweetness of this It's 90.3 FM KEXP Seattle morning show with Clem Snide and a beautiful song And if you have a man playing a small skiboard on earth, a man playing a chair and a banjo That's your back if you like to introduce all these fine
Oh, yes, sure, well that's the man on the chair back there that's playing a chair That's Eric Paul, the man with two names, two verse names And that's Pete Fitzpatrick on the banjo and euphonium And Brendan Fitzpatrick over there on the on the Casio rock in the Casio And you guys are again playing at the crocodile two shows on Saturday Yeah, we're doing one for for the kids for the kids And then there's one in the evening for the adults Then we're also doing one for the seniors Oh, yeah, like an early bird special come You got like all the folks tell them you're gonna go to them play maybe good I have some hookups there if you need me help Pete and this guy used to uh, used to play in Boston They're that Dr. Jones story where he played with his doctor who would be recently discovered that he loved playing music So they would do uh, they would play in hospitals and stuff and one of the places they played was the head injury Head trauma trauma now. There's going to be an attentive audience
I think the head trauma center. They're not going anywhere when you play with your playing band Or bolted in place they had like bolts to their skull Well, it's a crowd that you're not going to be appreciative in theory So you got two shows on Saturday so you guys are here for like three four days big plans big plans what you're in Seattle Well, we uh, tomorrow we have to go to Vancouver I'm not even sure what we're doing. We're just kind of zipping around. That's why we have a tour manager He uh, he just tells me where to go And I go Well the last time we saw you were in we are both in New York And didn't because to set up there in the museum of television radio So thank you again for sure My pleasure And uh, that was nice Now you're all the way over here again for another performance The new album's doing great people love it And uh, you happy with that when we when we last saw you it wasn't out yet We just had one song. Yeah, and uh, be happy without came out and and the response. Yeah. I uh Yeah, I think came out. I think came out real good. You know, it's a little it's a little weird I think some people might have been a little shocked Uh, with the record people that really liked our last one the ghost of fashion Some of the angrier, you know more bitter sort of nerdy dudes were a bit disappointed
With the sincerity of it, but it's it's for the ladies, you know This record is for the ladies. It goes out to all the ladies in the house Because I really like the record so that that means I'm here and the sense of touch And sense of sense of sweet all right Well, if you'd like to play another song and so here's here's a nice song in that vein No I There it's nothing in the world I wouldn't do for you Because there there's nothing in this world If I can't share my love
So many people in the world They don't realize So many people in this world With troubled thoughts And angry All the riches of this world
Can't compare to your smile And if only for a kiss I would walk A thousand miles Because there's nothing in the world I wouldn't do for you There's nothing in this world If I can't share my love with you It's 90.3 FM listener powered KXB Clem's snide live in the studios of KXB
And speaking of the ladies it's been my experience of banjo players Really attract the ladies have you noticed that happening. It's a babe magnet. Sure. You get off stage to ladies are lined up Who's the banjo player? It's basically with riff and solos like that. Yeah, yeah, they really see the skills sometimes my fingers hurt after those solos was very Deliverance-esque. I thought that was very nice So you got two shows at the crocodile and the all ages in the over-tweet one-show Do you feel do you like a one of the other better? Do you like your audience to be a little Nibrated or do you like them to be a little young? Which is better for you young and a Nibrated? Yeah, I like to I like to play You know, it's unfortunate that the ban like us oftentimes The only place we get to play is is a club and write more often than not. It's you know 21 plus so So yeah, the kids kind of get screwed a little bit
So I'd like to do all ages shows even though we just they're very They're not very cost-effective, but what we try We do the best we can. Well, it's good. You're giving the kids a chance to see that'll be on Saturday the crocodile with the long winters opening up the show Actually, yeah, great. So if you'd like to do another song we're more than happy to have you do it. I don't know. It's a club style They're live in the studios Let's just do let's do all right Let's do let's do I believe your lives, but let's do like a long version of Oh god, we're gonna do this song that's that It's on the E.P. that we put out last year that nobody really cares that much about Oh, good. That's what we want to hear. It's got a few songs on this is one All right guys do it like a texture We're just all just
It's too early to talk about texture and share so low All right Tell me how So in love with me Tell me that kiss will set me free Because I believe Your life And sing a song that makes my heart soar And write a headline that can't be ignored
Cause I believe you're alive I believe you're alive And it must be true Cause every one agrees
Now I'll bow my head and fall down on my knees And it must be true And don't act, feel so right Pray the Lord, I think I see the light Cause I believe you're alive I believe you're alive I believe you're alive
I believe you're alive It's 90.3 FM, K-XB, Clemson, I live in the studios of K-XB On the morning show, thank you so much
Playing Saturday, two shows at the crocodile And you have no idea where you're headed next Vancouver in between now Vancouver and Eugene And then we're coming back here I'm back to Seattle We got the 4-15 passenger Good car, good man Oh yeah, very reliable Well we used to, we tried, we owned our van We bought a van years ago And to all up and coming bands I highly recommend not owning your own van Always renting Interesting It was just so much heartache I think broke down all the time Usually in the middle of nowhere at two in the mornings And then there's always one guy in the band who's insurance, right? He's totally screw everybody He's got like 18 tickets Insurance? I'm sorry That's what we do in Washington I'm sorry, we were very anal about it Clemson's not going to be playing like I said two shows They have a new album out, pretty new album out Almost official, got it away
Came out June 17th And saw and spin art And how many albums do you put out now? This is our fourth LP And then there's that EP There's nobody really paid attention to Yeah, that's unfortunate Good songs on there though I know, right? Yeah, I think so I played, I think I played it You're going to do one more song Are we? Yes, you said four And I'm going to hold you to it So you better think of something real quick Let's not do fun love Because I'm just not feeling that one right now Sorry Let's do something a little more fun If I do that Lucille Ball song Would you guys be able to just do something? Sorry, and I'm just... Yeah That's what I do to the band all the time I changed things at the last minute Keeps them on their toes It's in A
This is trouble I want to do this song Because it's a fun song And it's... It hasn't been recorded yet I think so And we're just going to wing it So it might be a little sloppy There's... That's not a good key We're just going to... Yeah Is that the beat? Yeah There we go Well, there's a man for TV movie About Lucille Ball tonight And if you really want to watch it Well, I guess that'd be all right With me Well, I heard he used to beat her
Like she was a conga drone And they always slept in separate beds But somehow they had a son And the neighbors were vaudevilions And the laughs came from a can And even though the club was hopping It was the pills that she was popping that did her in Or maybe it was different You know, my facts aren't always straight But they would never make a movie If everything was great Because happiness is boring And it's always black and white And the good times never last
And the chocolates moved too fast For us all Take it Bring it down Wait down Well, there's a man for TV movie About Lucille Ball tonight And if you really want to watch it I guess that'd be all right with me
It's 90.3 FM, listen to power KXP Anything but sloppy If you looked at me and started a song and told me to hit it I'd be like hit what? I'd walk out the door Seasoned professional So show up at the crocodile Two shows When you go into it, is it a lot like this Or do you really have an idea What can people expect? You expect the unexpected Yeah, you know, we have a set But then sometimes if you're feeling kind of crazy
Sometimes what we do to live and things up is we do a clump snide karaoke Where in will have someone from the audience come up and sing a song? Very nice So that might happen Does it get awkward when they don't know the words to your song? And a glorious kind of way, a gloriously awkward We do a clump snide song Yeah, we do whatever songs Well then I hope you do that on Saturday I'll make it even more interesting So thanks again for coming up, it's good to see you again All right, it's the morning show, it's 90.3 FM, K-E-X-P Seattle 2D
