Every time I think I've had enough, I start hating for the Lord Never can't say it by some unknown Hi there, welcome to another edition of Friday Night J.S. Here on Vermont Public Radio, I'm your host, Rubin Jackson. Always a thrill having you along with me and you know the gameplay and don't you, we're going to play music from now until 11 o'clock Friday Night J.S. on VPR is made possible by Ellis Music of Beth over Vermont, specializing in sales, service and rental of musical instruments to schools and individuals throughout New England. The sponsor of this week's Friday Night J.S. on VPR is flooring America, whose local owners are longtime fans of VPR's jazz and classical music programs, find them in Williston and at flooringamericavt.com, beginning the show, recording from 1971 I think one of the most heartfelt yearning aching vocals ever committed to what we used to call wax and of course you can say that again since wax has made a comeback, Michael Jackson on
vocals with his brothers, the Jackson 5, from 1971 a piece written by Mr. Clifton Davis and never can say goodbye. We're going to do a couple more Motown themed pieces here in the eight o'clock hour of this edition of Friday Night J.S. on VPR and where are my manners? Happy Friday, thank you for tuning in, beginning with a recording release back in 2012, trumpeter, fluego hornest and rico rova, it is entitled rova on the dance floor, that of course not to Michael Jackson's dance compilation called Blood on the Dance Floor and Michael Jackson could dance and to be a bit colloquial he could sing to could he not. This piece written by Mr. Rod Temperton, certainly American popular song classic The Ensemble's Reading of the Rilla. Come on.

Sent her you love Doesn't roses Make sure that she knows it with flower from your heart Show him your love Don't hold back your feelings You don't need a reason When straight from the heart I've heard so many say that the days of romance are no more And people falling in love is so old fashioned Waiting for the day they once let slip away I need to fulfill the heart's desire for love Passion, sin, hurt, and love With a thousand roses
Make sure that she knows it With a flower from your heart Show him your love Don't hold back your feelings You don't need a reason When straight from the heart I know that people say two hearts beating as one Is a meal and can only help you and make believe stories But so blind they almost be that they cannot believe What they seek for around us are miracles of love's glory I need to fulfill the heart's desire for love
I need to fulfill the heart's desire for love With a thousand roses beating as one Is a meal and can only help you and make believe stories But so blind they almost be that they cannot believe I need to fulfill the heart's desire for love Passion, sin, hurt, and love With a thousand roses Make sure that she knows it With a flower from your heart Show him your love Don't hold back your feelings You don't need a reason When it's coming from your heart From your heart Your heart
Your heart Oh, oh, oh, oh Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh I need to fulfill the heart's desire for love With a thousand roses beating as one Is a meal and can only help you and make believe stories But so blind they almost be that they cannot believe I need to fulfill the heart's desire for love Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh Somersault, makes you up with kisses Start the morning up
In the midst of us, I've played in sand or glass She brings games through her brains Morning rain, can't be things her rhythm's on When the rain, can't know you won't clear up When she plans to change To bring rain or sunshine And so you'll wake to see what she'll do Is it summer rain for you? Run, it breaks your heart into When you find it's hot and cold And she's gone And she's gone Somersault Taking care of her summer's rain
And the rain must pass to that He wants to be your friend But love went for your answer He began forcing dangers Way with his brains Morning snow I've been telling to love you to love But just for what he never let you know If it's no more clear than you're fighting And so you'll wake to see what he'll do Is it summer snow for you? Run, it breaks your heart into When you find it's hot and cold And he's gone
And he's gone When just gone You find it's hot and cold And she's gone And she's gone Somersault You've been fooled by people And he's gone And he's gone When just gone You find it's hot and cold And she's gone And she's gone Somersault
You've been fooled by people And he's gone And he's gone When just gone And he's gone And he's gone Two compositions by the wonderful one here in the eight o'clock hour of Friday night jazz on VPR And were you here for the May 19th Stevie Wonder birthday show? Was that fun?
I hope it was. I certainly had a heck of a good time putting it together for you. We concluded with a recording from 1976's Songs in the Key of Life Stevie Wonder and his piece Somersault and we started with the new West guitar group from Sin 1 Your Love and the Title track This 2012 release, which means it shares something in common with the Enrico Robacolich It's hard to believe it's been five years since this music came out But this particular recording under the leadership of Trumper to Dave Douglas Is moderate past I think before the recording of this There's an understandably reflective feel to it and deliberately and you know then there's the individual Creativity and sensitivity of the musicians in question Will you two from be still starting with be still my soul and will conclude with high on a mountain? Still my soul for God is on your side, they're patiently the cross of grateful pain
Trust in your God, your Savior and your guide Who through all changes faithful will remain Be still my soul, your best, your health, my friend Through thorny ways leads to a peaceful end Be still my soul, for God will undertake
To guide the future surely as the best Your hope, your confidence, let nothing shake All our mistakes shall be bread and last Be still my soul, the waves and winds shall know The voice that comped them in this world will live
Be still my soul, the waves and winds shall know The voice that comped them in this world will live Be still my soul, the waves and winds shall know The voice that comped them in this world will live
Be still my soul, the air is hastling on When we shall dwell with God forevermore When disappointment brings and fear ago, sorrowful God must purify us just as restored Be still my soul, the waves and winds shall know The voice that comped them in this world will live
Be still my soul, the waves and winds shall know The voice that comped them in this world will live Be still my soul, the waves and winds shall know
The voice that comped them in this world will live Be still my soul, the waves and winds shall know The voice that comped them in this world will live Be still my soul, the waves and winds shall know
The voice that comped them in this world will live Be still my soul, the waves and winds shall know The voice that comped them in this world will live Be still my soul, the waves and winds shall know

Up next, the recording featuring a woman known as the first lady of song, Ella Fitzgerald, from a collection entitled Ella with the London Symphony Orchestra in a mortal composition by Mr. George Gershwin, someone to watch over me. There's a saying old says and love is blind. Still, we're often told seeking you shall find, so I'm going to seek a certain light I've had in mind.
He's a big affair I cannot forget. Only man I ever think of with regret. Tell me, where is the shepherd for this lost land? There's a somebody I'm longing to see. I hope that he turns out to be someone who watch over me. I'm a little lamb who's lost in the wood. I know I could always be good to one who watch.
I'm a little lamb who's lost in the wood. The key. Won't you tell him please to put on some speed? Follow my lead. Oh, how I need someone to watch over me.
