Series Description
"THE PEOPLE'S BUSINESS is a weekly half-hour program that airs on the seven member stations of the Pennsylvania Public Television Network. The series attempts to provide a comprehensive synopsis of state government news, as well as in-depth analysis of the issues being debated by decision-makers around the state. This entry was produced for broadcast on Nov. 6, 1981. The first segment contains a quick look at several news stories from the week ... election results and profiles of three nominees for the governor's cabinet. The second segment ... Also This Week ... contains an in-depth look at proposed changes in the state's banking laws, and state liquor laws. Thirdly, the Inside department goes inside a government agency or law to provide the viewer with a detailed account of the governmental process. This entry features Pennsylvania's contradictory liquor dispensing laws. Finally, FYI offers tidbits of information for consumers and taxpayers ... in this case a consumer guide to home-owners insurance. These four segments are included each week on THE PEOPLE'S BUSINESS except in the case of periodic special reports.
