Series Description
"An innovative presentation of the 1995-96 HGO season. Production included the unique integration of interview, commentary, and musical elements that produce a noticeable difference in the broadcast style and content currently available for opera on the radio. The deft pacing of these segments and their segues into the performance avoids the lulls so often created in a live broadcast. "Keeping the listener involved is not the only feature that warrants recognition. The best possible reproduction of the actual live performance was assured by state-of-the-art digital recording equipment with live stereo mixing mastered by an experienced musician/engineer. Then post-production guaranteed a final performance product superior to anything possible in direct live broadcasts. "KUHF's mission of community outreach and HGO's mission of superior opera production come together here in a non-commercial endeavor of world class music, and the best possible broadcast technology available anywhere."--1996 Peabody Awards entry form.
