Running bars, and this is our fresh tape here. Yeah. I had that very seriously. That's not a problem.
That's not a problem. That's on 949. 2839. This is a 6P. Okay. 743. Okay. A jab, I remember that. Yeah. Okay. 743. 8101. Okay. 743. 8101. Okay. A jab, I remember that. Yeah. Yeah, that's what you got. What's this? It looks like a... Oh my, let's just... You're going to have to go through. Oh, yeah. Oh, cool! Well, I get it.
No, no, no. I remember that. Okay. Yeah. Oh, cool. Yeah. Okay. Okay. Yeah. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay.
Yeah.
Yeah. That's a pass. Okay. This is the open. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Good. I almost made it to Cheyenne. Yeah. That's a nice way to spend the day. Well, the, uh, I was late and they were forecasting only, uh, half our leeway at the other end. I figured I'd better not chance to be more embarrassing to be in Cheyenne with you. If you get to different gears for our gym, we're going to go back here busy day. Now, yeah. So what are you going to, um, what's, uh, what's the best thing? What's the best thing we're going to do? What are these two hours?
Well, the first best thing is coming. Regan's very popular in Mexico is the Mexicans basically, uh, support, uh, his economic policies and defense policies. And, uh, that's good. That's good politics. You know, what can you do for you? I mean, that's what he does. He comes in and he, uh, builds, uh, and generates enthusiasm for the campaign. He will raise little money, not a great deal, but raise some. But the most important thing is, uh, his enthusiasm is at this stage of the game. He's got the, uh, people who believe in, uh, what I've been trying to do for five years. I mean, I finally have a president who agrees, uh, to do, uh, out in front of the, uh, media in front of the people. Get this thing going. It's in good shape, and it just adds that much more to that. It's been so much easier to have been done five or ten years ago. It's a desperate situation. We have to take desperate measures. How do you all talk boost in the company? This is quite close to the prestige. It's being governors together. They're very fairly good friends. Bruce was talking, I was talking to him over the weekend and he says, well, I don't know about it. Well, Bruce, we heard you already had a full calendar for today.
And I hope that somebody talked to me in the table. No, I really can't. Come out of this business, and I hope the national media will be exposed to it. And that is that the basic things that we elected Ronald Reagan to do, and a conservative majority in the Congress to do, have been done, and they're working. Inflation is down, now running below six percent in the last few months. The savings rate is up. Interest rates are down from where they were when he assumed office. And there's a differential between inflation and interest rates now. It's so great that the pressure to come down even further is quite large. I just don't see them going any higher and they are much higher than they are right now, and they should start down soon. How about the rest of the government? Well, people may be upset, but you still got to work awfully hard. You've got to work awfully hard to find people who have actually been hurt by the kind of adjustments that we're making. The adjustments in discretionary programs have been large, but it's frankly with a block grant approach is up to the states to learn how to operate more efficiently without washing them in the loop.
They haven't learned how to do that yet, but they've got to learn how to do that. That's what the people said they wanted. I interviewed a lady as a hundred and one time. The real area where adjustments have to be made is in the capping of the open-ended growth of entitlements. You're never going to balance that budget. You take 20 billion out of defense and another 10 billion out of discretionary programs. You're still not going to balance that budget unless we gain control of those open-ended entitlement programs. That's the key to balancing the budget. The key to not having an inflation while you have these deficits is don't let the money supply increase like we always have. If the money supply increases, we're going to have a whole new round of inflation within 12 months. That'll make what we've had before and look like child's play. It's absolutely critical that we find interest rates by increasing the amount of savings and investment in our society, and that's what these tax cuts will do, and that's what some more incentives can do if we'll just put them in this year. What you think is interest rates now is to increase the pool of capital available for public and private borrowing. That's already doubled under the Reagan tax cuts. It can increase even more if we'll just build in new incentives for savings and investment. Senator, what about the various governors and concerns that there won't be enough money coming back?
What about your colleague Pete as far as it's seeming to back the President a little bit now? Well, as I've said before, I think that's unfortunate. I think we all have ideas on how you can improve a program. We improved the President's program last year within the Congress. We didn't do as much for him as we should have, but in other areas, particularly in the adjustment of the cuts within the discretionary area, we made a lot of improvements. I much prefer working with our President. He is our President, and finding a politically and technically doable package, budget package, to get to the Congress, rather than everybody going out publicly with their own alternative. I don't think we've accomplished anything by that. I've told Pete that, and I've told Pak with that. I've told Gorton that. I've told everybody that. It's an economic and defense policy. We finally elected a President who agrees with me. I've been perfectly consistent for five years since I was elected, and during the last campaign, and what I thought we should be doing in those major areas of that kind of,
I think just like last year, there are going to be adjustments in that budget. I think, though, the President is. It's true here. It's going to be thrown out on the roof, isn't it? Oh, the roof will be taken out to... Where's the guy to go? Where's the eight? I don't know, I don't know. What's that? What are they going to do?
Are you ready? Come on, Darryl. What's going on? What's going on?
What's going on? What's going on?
What's going on? What's going on? What's going on?

What's going on? What's going on? How are we doing? Too wide? She was a little bit apologetic for the day and it's all, it's a beautiful day. It was snowing when we left Washington and he was very nice. Did you ask him for some more money?
No, I did.
