being blowout proportion but but when a person in his position makes a statement like he made about my institution i have to be responsive to set the record straight white maintains that the university is deeply involved with the community and says he hopes bryson will issue an apology if there were an apology do would be due to those hundreds of vanderbilt people students and faculty and staff are out there right now doing things for this community on the animals that have been on their own behalf as volunteers it if there's an apology this dude i think it's do them because they're the ones that are out there on the track is delivering those services and what it says of them it is not only that people can appreciate it i must learn what's really going on wyatt says he talked briefly with bredesen this morning before the mayor went out attack and that the two had scheduled a meeting next week for wpln anita bug

- Mayor Phil Bredesen says Vanderbilt University could do more to benefit the community, and that many Nashvillians agree with his viewpoint. VU chancellor Joe Wyatt was surprised and disappointed by the mayor's comments, especially because he met with the mayor recently and the mayor did not express the same commentary directly. VU chancellor says that the mayor is not being specific regarding his criticisms.
