"This particular program is the Annual United Nations Day Program presented in co-operation with the National Federation of Music Clubs. It includes a memorial tribute to the late Dag Hammarskjold[.] The speakers include -- His Excellency Mario Amadeo, Argentine Ambassador and Mrs. C. Arthur Bollock, National President of NFMC. ""The HANDS ACROSS THE SEA broadcast, conceived and produced by Dr. Herman Neuman has been on the air since 1935. Rarely heard music and musicians from more than 35 nations has been featured on this weekly series.""--1961 Peabody Awards entry form. This program, found under the entry number for Hands Across the Sea, does not appear to be an episode of that series. This is a United Nations session in which Ambassador Adlai Stevenson talks about nuclear testing and the nuclear test ban treaty. He challenges the Soviet Union to sign a treaty. The Chair and a representative from Nepal both speak (in English) and an unidentified person speaks in French.
