The second session was the great Earl Father Hines and his recordings of the 1960s, numerous as they are, selections from. Solo of course, quite a number of them, trio and quartet and that big band again. That's pretty piece, you know. It's collaboration of Earl's.
And the English composer, songwriter, Reginald Forsyth, is a well-quavid artist. And he wrote some lyrics for it too. The other band's old theme recorded in 1940 for Bluebird. That's on that Victor Vintage Reissue set, the Grand Terrace band, Earl Hines. Deep forest, deep forest, of course. The one big band set we're using was done in 1963 in LA. A bunch of Hollywood prose. I think that muted work. We've heard on a couple of things. By Cappy Lewis with the old Woody Herman band. Maybe some stuff to a bud and breeze
boi, quite a rhythm section, trumpet section, everything here. Joe Comfort's bass, Al Henry's guitar, Hendrickson, and Leon Petty's and drums. Earl Father Hines, his piano, Ralph Carmichael, swing and big band, capital, 63. The old theme, deep forest, Earl. The drums with the stride seedlings. Nice quartet date. New York in 1960. The one from which we heard. One about two
st. Louis Blueses. And I opened our own part. One loved me or leave me. 1960, our earliest recording, this decade or so, we're covering. Earl's recordings. Calvin Newborn's guitar. Soloed two for a chorus. Car proved space. Had himself some forebark changes more or less. Earl's riff there. And Billy English on drums. Likewise for him. It was an MGM originally called Earl's Pearls. Earl Father Hines. It was re-issued too. I just remembered. On VSP, the low price and verb subsidiary lasted for a while. In the 60s. And called Life with Father, which is pretty good title too. Life with Father, MGM,
and VSP. Yeah. Fats well up. Dadio. Steel and apples. Flutch Anderson recorded in 1936 with his band. Coscom and recorded two. With smack. His arrangement. Steel and apples. Dashing Earl there. He had two, but it's ballot. And he's all over it. It's his own. And Charlie Carpenter's. To dream by him. Music.
