[noise] over a year ago eugene came to me and asked about working on his god and country award here in the riverside church eugene has been a part of riverside church school since the age of two and a half when he enrolled in a nursery kindergarten program this evening at dinner mother said that he went four years to the nursery kindergarten [singing] we wouldn't believe twelve terror is that a holiday georgian
Modica, Ms. Elizbeth weeks, Mrs. Mildred Mcinnes, and Mr. Herbert Lace and Mr. Vallne hMcfadden. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven. I I appoint these eleven as inspectors, assistant inspectors of elections and request that they weigh on on, Mrs. Lemon and Mr. Elliot for their instructions. The balloting and the collection of ballots is the next order of business. You have the ballots in front of you and Dr. Hanson has already called attention to the error in the footnote at the bottom of the pink ballot. That's insignificant, but we thought we ought to make clear to you the difference. [pause]...Please a few moments while you address yourselves this problem, and I will not address
you nor anyone else for a moment. [pause] [pause] [pause] [pause] [inaudible] [inaudible] [pause] [pause]

[pause] [pause] [pause] [pause] [pause] [pause] [pause]
[pause] Are all the ballots collected? If not, will any of you who have ballots which have not been collected, had it to Mr. Nutley or Mr. Elliot, or raise your hand if you have not got it in and they will send someone to pick up your ballot. [pause] Now that the voting has been in, I think I can just add a personal word that and there were no contest for the church budget committee. I merely wanted to say that I hope Dr. Deal is as
thorough in examining the church budget as he was in looking down my throat at the University of Minnesota, health, a student health service at about forty seven years ago. [laughter] The next item is the presentation of the church, the 1966...this says 1966 budget. This must mean the 1967 budget which will be done by Mr. Charles Delacast. [pause] [silence] [silence] [pause] I have been presenting the budget to these meetings for longer than I'd like to think. When I started, I don't know exactly what the figure was, but uh, I would say from recollection, it was no more than half of the amount of the budget which I present this evening.
Each year the budget has grown steadily without any letup. The only thing that hasn't grown is the length of time the time allowed in which to present the budget. I used to present it at the rate of about 75,000 dollars every minute and now I present it at a rate of something over 150,000 dollars a minute. You have before you a budget. On the front of it, it says that the total is $1,641,453 and that's easy to understand. If you open it up, uh, you will see that it is broken down in a way designed to make it simple and understandable to all. Uh, in the vertical columns, there are three, four, main groupings: 1) ministry and programs, next activities which includes: arts and crafts and the
WRV, the nursery kindergarten, and then the third column, the building. The fourth column, the totals of the prior columns. Then, uh, at the top are the items of expenditure and at the bottom, the items of income. And if you look over in the total columns and look at the bottom of the items of expenditures, you will see again the figure of $1,641,000 which is almost exactly one hundred thousand dollars more than the budget of last year. If you look down on the income side, happily you will see the figures are the same so we are in at least bookkeeping balance. The $100,000 say of increase, uh, looking at the expense side, is spread between: ministry and program, about $60,000; the activities,
26,500; and the building, the smallest 13,500 of increase. The largest item of increased by far is accounted for by salaries of the full time and regular staff, and there, there's an increase of $58,500; 25,000-odd in the ministry and programs side; 23,000-odd in activities; about 9,000 on the building side. In addition to that, there are in increases in employee benefits of about $8,000. Then there are a miscellany of other items totaling 36,000 that go to make up the hundred thousand, and in that 36,000 there are two large items; 1) an item of 8,000 in the area of Christian education.
Of course the number of children has grown substantially, the number of teachers, say, it has grown and there's a greater need for supplies. And in benevolences, there's been a large increase and part of that is due only to a bookkeeping item. Some years ago, the late George Weeks, who was my predecessor, was chairman of the budget committee, and left a ... and Mrs. Weeks also, monies... to the church in a fund, to be used for charitable purposes within the City of New York, it had to be spent by the trustees for this purpose. For various reasons, amounts set aside out of that fund, have not appeared before, appeared in the budget. This year, they appear in the budget for the first time and that accounts for t$20,000 in the increase. in my are with respect to these substantial increases and sour or
a friday there is one very substantial new salary year a job in the form of a director of the middle school they help take care of the expanding prison education program there are also while substantial salary increases their resulting from the work of the tower rose lee in mammoth realm of activities said there are very substantial are salary increases same as do too increased positions in ny or of the wypr but the most important of these is an assistant manager and assistant jack summer failed to lighten most likely the very very heavy burden that he's been carrying know for several years yet as perhaps am interesting to know
that the total budget of the million six hundred and forty one thousand the total amount that goes for salaries and benefits both salaries of the full time staff and salaries of the part time staff and their benefits comes to a total of almost a million one hundred and fifty thousand dollars goes to show where and how many people are involved in the program in the church i've served for many years on salary committee there's one thing i can say without any hesitation and that is the stuff of the church is not overpaying now looking at the other side of the budget where is the money going to come from we ate hundred thousand dollars more only seventeen thousand four hundred is represented dead by an increase in the other non member campus
go so where there's a valid question of where's to wear the other eighty two thousand party at three thousand comes from lee and the side of the program administrator haley there is an increase of forty two thousand five hundred in income over nobody seventeen nano thousand four hundred increasingly every member campus and there is this the gross increases larger than most because there are two items so significant decrease one like collections are estimated to be down four thousand dollars and other income has estimated to be down approximately eight we pick up six thousand dollars sailed from i'm endowments and reserve say available for program purposes we pick up twenty five thousand dollars from a new book where's the parker fund which ship provided same
income for the tower lee that amount is twenty five fans i've already mentioned the week's fund income that is now run through the regular budget and there's been a new benevolent fund set up to be a higher risk receptacle for a number of small legacies for benevolent purposes and listen and those shields fourteen hundred dollars there's an increased lots of glass these as an increase in weekday are mostly kindergarten bad tuition there is same income in the lisbon priestly income of wypr its own earned income and to reserve our building operation will have additional and downwind income to meet its expenses so that brings us to roughly this hundred thousand dollar i think they
had a budget is a large lawn substantial increase i can assure you it's been considered very carefully said those who've worked the hardest on the set mostly the members and they can budget committee i think and down a highly conscientiously intelligent day job of trying to bring to you the best they can with german i move that's about it viking were much lifted telling ask hondurans are necessary to say especially to those who've attended these meetings and other years of the thoroughness of examination which as demonstrated by that why they breed very illuminating statement the killing of mit has been a feature of this budget for many many years now before voting on it i think it would be appropriate to have a statement by the stewardship council and ice last quick to bring to make a statement on behalf of the council
forgiveness before it would like to confirm they re great care that was exercised in the the bulk of the budget and the budget committee not because i was a member of the budget committee but because a key figure in the budget always becomes the every member can this goal we try to be very careful that we do not take on a goal that isn't realistic or that we do not have a chance of achieving as you can see from the budget we get increase i remember countless gold from four hundred and three thousand four hundred and twenty thousand four hundred increase of seventeen thousand four hundred dollars with respect to that every member campus goal and let me give you a cup report not by mr fiction as humble as of about four o'clock this afternoon
and we can report that of the total remember campbell school of four hundred and twenty thousand four hundred dollars that we're pledges in the hand of three hundred and eighty thousand five hundred and thirty four dollars which is ninety eight point five percent of our goal this compares with a point to progress at our last annual meeting of ninety one point two percent which is very very close where the slightly behind a lot of course we have a larger goal and we actually are ahead dollar wise by about thirteen thousand dollars of the additional seventeen thousand four hundred that we have to raise because this is such a magnificent achievement and because i do want to give recognition to the very final remember can this team i would like at this point of time to recognize the members of that organization i will ask them to stand on two remain standing until the entire
organization has been recognized i first would like to recognize the chairman mr harvey williamson and his culture ministry stockwell this very capable team german culture it's bleak researcher plausible we'd like to wait til the end and then we'll give them really a round of applause of ramadi nabil below the division of the law the chairman mccaul chairman come the division leaders and these division leaders are the key members of management and they remember kenward and the i remember countless organizations and i would like at this point to recognize the chairman of the divisions the division leaders if they would stand thank you very
much likes quickly if you please remain standing for law and then in the lower division leaders we have the captains of the teams a report of these division leaders and i would like the next to recognize the captains in the i remember countless organizations and then of course in true organizational fashionable of the captains we have workers and would like to recognize the additional workers below the captain level in every member organization additionally we have a number of committees that are active the male campus committed ongoing clerical a blessed in their reservations i would like to recognize the chairman and the members of those committees they would also stand now you see before you the total of remember campus organization and i suggest we give them rio to
pay they're seated and more comfortable i i would like to pay a further general tribute to the entire i remember countless organization i know that the membership of the church understands what they're doing but i i want to remind you of the dual role that they carry out the first being been very important task of raising the funds which complete the budget which ensure the execution and performance of the total church program here at riverside church secondly in addition to raising these necessary fall it's been so remember canvas organization prostitutes a very vital and with all of the members and friends of riverside church there are many members in many friends who for one reason or another i do not have frequent contact with the
church and for whom this time by the memory of remember canvas organization is perhaps the only or a major contact during the church year these members go out and they visit these people and they bring back information which helps to hold us together as a church family so there is this very important dual role and i think they'll remember campus organization does emit magnificent old job involved his respects now having said all laudatory things i want to leave only one sobering thought oh we still have some forty thousand dollars of our budget still the ritz and the sobering part of this is that when we take inventory of the pledges made before nineteen sixty six that had not yet been a completed that we have not had a response from for one reason or another we haven't they been
others say or they've been inaccessible and weak or we're say they are still considering them out of the pledge when we totaled up the people who have made pledges of nineteen sixty six a laureate to be heard from we have a margin of less than five thousand dollars above this forty thousand dollars is needed and of course as you well nor a pledge in one year is not necessarily a pledge in the next year because various things that happened which changed the amount of the capacity to get so this simply means that it is most important i say this to the total i remember countless organization that week complete a one hundred percent basis the follow up with every carbon every year old former slave ledger that you have also say to you the other members here members and friends at anything that you can do to help you remember campus organization will be very much appreciated
because it is so important that we completed this remaining gap forty thousand dollars which is the tough part of the ev remember ken's so please help us and together we will win and i believe that poses meyer your remarks and again let me say that we do have a very necessary budget we have recognized the spy accept and the gold ordered twenty thousand four hundred and i should like formally to seconds detailing mass motion that this going to be adopted thank you very much with the writers of the magnificent achievement is each one of these years is seems to be an insight into he's called up the ring sometimes i never quite reached a goal and it's a victory i am service to him on your behalf would like to thank the entire organization which does this splendid job you've heard the motion and
it's been seconded is there any discussion if not i would ask at those who favor of emotion would sew indicate by rising well being and i do it very dark week not that we have you know they concluded all we wanted during this portion of the meeting to officially many concluded the business of love the religious corporation except for the recording of a results about them for proceeding the next question i'd like to ask mr foley is here and thank you know add just a word of explanation references been made already at the fact that the ballots which you which are presented to you this evening contain descriptive material at the bottom relating to the qualification of norbert hofer beacons building members voting in as members of a religious
society and for trustees and that this was an error that if they want patients have in the past been and as of this moment still are before this leads may lead to confusion particularly in matters affecting the corporate affairs of the area of the church the i should just read a sentence or two from maine but that which was distributed sometime ago which verizon that this as of meetings or religious is it all persons who have been admitted to membership in the church are entitled to vote the statute governs the other portion of our activity the religious corporations and that law gives the right to a corporate meetings in the church to win on our quote all persons a full age who have been members of such urgent than regular standing by admission into for communion and membership there were or where stately worship with such urgent and regularly contributed to the financial support their own during the year next preceding such meeting or law permits the church at an annual corporate meeting its intentions overdue has been given to the
notice of the meeting could decide that they're after all the members of the church photo for wage and including regular standing by admission of the fourth minute our membership there with shelby qualified voters at corporate meetings and they language of the statute which i first read with si se much more applicable in the case of a small neighborhood church or a local church and in the case of one as large as this where in the event that the identification of orders became important it would be virtually impossible determine who might or might not have stated they were supporters of the struggle i've known davis told terry in the river which i apologize but this job as chairman of our law committee has some common to make them that i believe a motion to preserve his back ms chapman and ladies and gents i think it was about explain the mother to perhaps i might add justice that our church is a duo the
organization it is there is a suicide he won the one nun and unincorporated body on the auto incorporated not under the industrial corporation lot of the state but under what we call the religious corporations lot of new york i think you realize that incorporation as the legal body facilitates the handling of the legal and of the temple those of the church the holding of property the investment to finance the operation of the building and the lovers of business management as most of the lawyers explained on the qualifications for voting in the corporate meeting offstage in the lawyers state them as the law of the state and then the law in that same section provides that the church at any time leaving all which you know this has been built on may change the us to make the
qualifications as again he stated the year members of the church and board spending all full page but notice all this meeting as read from the lectern the last two sundays and as included in the calendar paul's to sundays included notice that we were going to make the solution the board of trustees thought it advisable to have the qualifications for voting at the copper meeting to say in so far as the law will permit as the voting qualifications at the religious but the only difference somebody that is that we must put in that both those out the call a quiet meetings shelby presence of twenty one years of age and that i take it is simply adapting that's not up to the usual age qualifications in business transactions and seeking your ascent the borders thought that you would readily see the difficulties in identifying all persons who out regularly contributed to reveal some like
that we have a record about some like that and maybe we don't have a record of that that you would receive even more difficulty in a death defying all who have all stated they worshiped opens with us during the year for illustration how can be accurately determine all those qualifications does senator notices now no actual problems have been in korea but it has seemed better to avoid any by any problem by disqualification and this arrangement does mean that now that will be a written register of qualified workers available at the church at all times so about one as chairman on instruction of the board of trustees i move the adoption of the following resolution resolved by the riverside church in the city of new york acting annual corporate meeting held pursuant to notice on the seventh day of december nineteen sixty six
that from annapolis said that only members of such churchill will age and in good and regular spending by admission into full membership that with shall be qualified voters at corporate meetings and they will i think nothing need be added i would ask is is a second this motion is earning discussion if not all those in favor of barbecue cart conservative republicans your
last one i should emphasize of course this does not affect the voting rights have been members of the religious society you understand that you'll understand that any member of a church regardless of age isn't out of the vote as a member of the religious society steelers purely within the corporation in the corporate affairs under any other questions yes it is well i believe in any case it's yours and you're having votes by two separate organization as one of religious corporations as the problem we always face and the other religious society that it would be inappropriate to have one ballot on representing
votes for officers of two different organizations i think what again i'm invading us with a question is i think what we continue to have to balance i think we must have to balance is we have two organizations yes that's what i try to say a moment on yes no question about that this is when i was there this is the answer i was attempting to get to the question are there any other questions and we welcome them because it should be understood it's not they were preset country minded disorder the this meeting continues but from a media religious corporation continuous and the other is a religious society continues and darker of opera now proceed to carry out his portion of that meeting
we come to the moment which we can postpone no longer and this is the recognition of the retirement of mrs hazard i would like her at this point to come up and join us up here in the room the pope whenever we come to the retirement of a person in a riverside staff who has been here through as many generations and as many years as this is believe it or not there are a
host of memories that cluster around and we are made aware again of a long and distinguished history of this church and of the people who have made it such tonight and mrs hazards honor we have invited back to a group of people from past years of the staff some of whom were able to be here some of whom were not and have sent their greetings and to begin service a recognition i would like to mention them again and share your joy at those who could be present such as doctor mrs tibbets an attack this is the viral storm the pay to play normally in the past i think that there are
good many people in the church family who don't see some of the people who are behind the scenes at the hazard home namely mr hazard and daughter barbara richardson church and from around the world we have readings from other people who have wanted to have a party in this evening at from main house audiences are greetings from it's an old harrison follows law firms from chicago the gordon gilkey is a telegram here from betty house in berkley and two particular letters that i think would be of interest to the congregation at large one comes from brussels and i'd like to read a couple paragraphs it says our first wish would be the privilege of being at riverside to tell you personally how much your friendship has always been appreciated my second
wish list will tell you who it is to be able to be up in the tower to let the bells ring out our message of love and devotion to you wishing your many years of happiness and good health to say get out from the tower and let the whole neighborhood sharing this message of love would be my earnest wish and then nobody surpasses i think the way in which dr foster puts things and i would like to use this as our greeting to you over his signature i deeply regret my inability to be present on december seventh when the church pays tribute to edmund a hazard for her long years of invaluable service we eagerly welcomed this is has it to our staff while i was still an active minister of riverside and ever since well over twenty years she has rendered to the church an effective service for which we are all profoundly
grateful her in here and graciousness are sympathetic understanding of people are ingenious idea of eliciting cooperation her tireless fidelity in her work and underneath all her strength of christian faith and character have endeared her to all of us after all he's said on december seventh in her praise and on our much will still be left unsaid deeply felt in our respect and affection for her benedict's shows on her through the years ahead made her recollections of her care for riverside and of our warm hearted care for her be among her always cherished memories very sincerely harry anderson foster the pope it would like to begin by presenting you with this chief of letters and greetings from friends and second of all to ask dr mccracken to come up and continue the present cases he's
been i pick up where the executive minister has just left off making the point that the other side has been well served through the years by gifted and dedicated staff members i'm standing among them is edwin hasn't she has given among the best years of our life and to four of them to the service of this ditch many things go from ancient this moment but the time factor being in the minds of all of us i have seen the letter too one of radiation and the variety of our service has special field is social work and in that reputation and our security establishment where solo established norm ago but during the war years beginning as an assistant to the
ministers she has been an all purpose a staff member and she has left a mark on and has made a valuable contribution to organization of the organisation in this congregation diverse organizations as diverse as the riverside do the women's society and the terror and the assets it program developed and expanded she has proved itself versatile and flexible and resourceful in meeting new situations a new demands she has all along been involved in the total minister of the church and to a quite extraordinary degree she must be to the congregation one of the best known staff persons he has influenced and shaped its life in countless ways
the other thing that impresses me about it was a service is the right from the vet effects and until this hour it as being personality said this is of a big church in a very big city it is easy here to get lost in the car to be absent and not everyone's absence noted the beanstalk and not just anybody know what one is up against edwin that is a clairvoyant us she has some sort of sixty six gs on individuals younger middle aged or refugees individuals in the physical emotional spiritual without ever seeking ordination she has been true past
and for twenty four years she has acted on doctor for styx admonition that nothing matters in this church except what happens to individuals an elderly woman said to a church worker who called on their home city a solar on me i'll leave you to conjecture what sort of church work of that was but our votes fight but nobody even sent anything of that sort where could win a hazardous been concern she has fellow feeling she has compassion and she has understanding she has imagination more than once it was intercepted by the criteria all the pottermore of the last item she can count at the aa on hearing the mosque as
well done good and faithful servant in the star condo through the competition we're going to miss her skills and experience and wisdom and maturity we're going to miss that she's a real persons talented which a charming and concentrate we would show where we know the years that it was she is retiring at the end of the month a life of inaction will have no due for her she was always in the spirit of jesus we finding people she can assist and help so on your behalf and asking her to raise it's
b i want say to that is addressing a microphone so that you can hear me know wishing that i could address head directly we want you as a congregation to know how grateful we are four or two and in the twenty four years that you've been here of the find self effacing service your end of the kingdom of god and we further want you to know that we have to in our admiration and affection for many years that we have to in our admiration and affection now and paul's will continue to have in the name and on behalf of the church no for you first and on through all
right mccracken i am overwhelmed very much and now i'm being horribly tempted imagine a captive audience and riverside experiences of almost a quarter of a century to relate to but no i must keep faith with an annual meeting time schedule in spite of my decision to take early retirement that and to simply confirms the fact that i'm not yet sixty five i am finding preparing a leap are preparing to lead a far greater emotional rants than i ever anticipated i've spent a few weeks in putting my house in order and it has been a wonderfully gratifying experience all those folders and file some cases of mine
have suddenly become people again and i've been re living my early days of service as roseanne representative to a women's society and to really get out the antidote group which a long long time ago was known as dr foster its marriage bureau however for me the past fourteen years have been the most rewarding as it has been my assignment to serve as riverside social worker of necessity most of my work is that it has been done behind scenes because of its confidential nature here i had the opportunity to council with members of the church family members of the community who faced personal problems too difficult to solve alone my knowledge and use of public and private social welfare and health agencies serving families you and old age have an enabled me to carry out that besides concern for people as the social worker has
also been gratifying to work with the scores of refugees and displaced persons who missed church has sponsored through the social service committee also i take pride in having been part of the founding committee which helped to organize the tally now riverside highly successful organization offering a program of varied activities the men and women of the middle and later years and i mustn't forget what fun i've had each summer and interviewing and planning placement for youngsters known my social service department to the christian education department and to the hispanic american ministry and all this made possible with funds granted a bubble benevolence committed attempt scholarships i'll always cherish a lad i received that some i'm from one camper who wrote dear mrs hazard i do not like tampa but i thank you very much for sending money he's
as well as the troops i'm close to terminating a great experience and christian service it has been an incredible adventurer and i want to express my thanks to my family would love me and i understood the importance of night meetings and more hours away from home to the staff who's loyal support has been mined for the asking and of those retired staff members of yesteryear with whom it has been my privilege to work and my social service committee as well who were counseled me wise like through many trying public at gun policy and k situations and to hear the church family worked in my friends i thank you very much the
pittsburgh fb while the notion that the guest speaker of the evening will be really if he's not introduced at great length i wrote him and this presidents among us tonight i say this we have a neighborly relations with the institutions on morning side whites and we are over seeking a closer relationship in particular we think ought to be more coming and going between the different religious communities because while there
still is mike's that divides us that is also marks that unites us and in the spirit of outrage we tend to emphasize more and more what we have income we have invited dr abraham joshua heschel to addresses not only because he is an enabler but because he is one of judaism's a police spokesman and an ecumenical reminded sinclair warn him or so first teaching and more so then in berlin than in london england he is now professor of jewish ethics and mysticism in the jewish theological seminary it will insist this congregation to know that in the academic year nineteen sixty five nineteen sixty six dr his show was howdy
emerson foster visiting professor at union theological center seminary and in the second semester the air travel this country from coast to coast speaking before christian jewish audiences the author of many many books in constant demand as a lecture he is not only a theologian and a philosopher he is a mistake and the c at the world famous philosophers theologians and plenty mistakes and see as a career and the world has a great need of them felt that the misses his show we warmly welcome you this annual dinner meeting of the riverside church and artist sol we are back to have you come no way to the podium we
apologize for the lateness of the hour but we abide by our understanding with you but you want to have a good hearing from us and recently signed with the utmost and just do what you have to say to this doctor the pope dr mccracken that very beautiful and say ahead how nice like deleting linda conflict a human somewhat in tension with her for more problem maybe you could help me out mr martin was on about invitation in plain duty bound to speak to you but i had a conflict between beauty and conscience because i think your little bit tie and he i have a hunch that you had to appreciate so much if it would limit let him out that just a few
seconds you know i wouldn't be done the two genders can be hastily cameras i know if i would announce that that just finished like to meet many yeah i might feel so relieved because there are so many other things important than life to do evening news long can that hours later i could do literally a great moan lacked if i went to announce it on the other hand i have a sense of duty in the moment ms particular problem in contemporary ethics particularly protestants circles being hotly debated that and principles and situations since i am not practical situational ethics thing ever listened to the voice of duty and the other hand i think that there i could not display at a more
human quality this evening and the one of gravity don't you think so about the dahlia know there wasn't so much dissent during the meetings before a single voice of dissent now but i must also say that even gravity so maybe that would be the voices for me to speak fifteen minutes or twenty and by that time at age twenty you a nice silently wrote for the decision no i would like to speak him briefly i said dr farmer cholera miami story and used to examine his students by saying that they're disgusted and i give me a survey of fear the history of the jewish people and the lemons thrown from thirteenth century briefly about in detail i
would like to speak about the very important subject and briefly but locked in that they know i would like to touch upon the problem of jewish christian relations ms leslie live there though we live and made the comments in a little more religious commitment of the firm's and compassion and thinking of a fellow man and becoming the mascot issue for faulks another words what goes on the commission will affect us views deeply into lesser learn how to live in the only hurt each other i was a sudden crisis intensely disagreed but the grocery fini italy the commercial doctrine says local business to an opportunity sometime ago this is one wave of diplomacy is managing to add

orleans at the human and that is a disclosure of the divide and joe main art well and not scare many things and the operation's some jewelry humanity is wholly of holy toledo human being difficult you need to do since the image of god the presence of gauntlet appoint an ancient saying the sky de gaulle to said to moses wherever you see the case of men there are used them before you and engage in a conversation with a person of a different religious commitment to discover the duties agree in memphis sacred to us about the image of god they face disappear and the guards seized the standard format does the difference and commitment to store the
kinship of being human but the fact that you define our conceptions of all cancelled what the evan kohlmann that image ago nobel for the mention of religious existence for necessary components of man's relationship to god while the teaching the essential for which i'll summarize them the form of retreat for example would serve as guiding principles and they're thinking about medals temple and people didn't mention of doctrine fate in ruins the top in this record there mention of privacy thank you the dimension of the deed for the competition which precludes the need to come to also the community or the covenant didn't mention of transcendence know the last two
dimensions judaism templeton christianity that normally well briefly on the mention of faith it is clear but then they mention of the bar on his sleeve us carriers for cooperation among men of different commitments in terms of intellectual communication shin concern that knowledge and applied religion particularly ethically to social action but it is precisely in the dimension of it we're the corporations running the seeds and these dimension in terms of muscle weakness an example shin concerts confessing to america sen obama doctrine music to convey the company going we believe in in the little afraid the experience and one another the presence of a person an avian of affliction suffered great impressions
i suggest therefore that the most significant raises for meeting a moment of religious traditions of the level of fear and humility in competition where all individual moments of three of the new wave in the ocean of mankind's teaching ago there were foreign relations and that the conditions appears on the statements warehouse also swept away by the awareness of the urgency of us ain't got the script of detention and concede the first time for almost a prerequisite to find their faith is faith his only other the depth and meaning the moment that begin with him and that he can help divide says and what unites us reduce it even more intriguing
commitment each lead that they had a very existence we say no to one of their main doctor is sensual sacred what unites us are being accountable oh being object to build coalitions and his eyes opened shelters conceptions ails us medvedev but then decided to say the language the imagination the composition of faults may be different but i'm listening to the same and so's disarm the so and the necessity to obey we may disagree about the ways of achieving but the fear of the same the same the proclamation so different because most of the
same and so you challenge we face in many moments of spiritual enemy above all the most forms of worship a different god is the same nights as a commitment to the hebrew bible as holy scripture for a friend to create a lot of labor and commitment to many of his commandments to justice and mercy a sense of completion sensitivity to this sanctity of being online today environmental gotten historically connection to him about not only the good will be defeated prayer that they're scheming up and before the end of days and so much more rare moments in the austin to go and still faces in the mirror than we show humanity and that helplessness the
complexity of the individually and in need of divine guidance being called to crave and to do it does require it's been i have promised you know iphones or before deployment of consideration i'm going to keep my promise i say that is so much you can do together matter so the concern and no elements to go to judaism and christianity on the deepest level above all not only on the level of sharing knowledge and understanding businesses say for us to lift it did this moment in the catacombs of true grit it so hard to reclaim what do the most important to do is the same for us to learn how to come buying name a life of prayer life of
action this last year for us to be a poem or a sense of devotion to realize that the worshippers and the sense of justice interdependent when you were my mother and it is the today trying to kill days it's quite clear that the task is an almost none of us were booed along the world is too small for anything but mutual k and deep respect to be made for an evening of responsibility for the purpose of seeing daily news corp to flatten out to refute one another but to help there the shia and said and learning to cultivate limited and the avengers allies will allow even more important to search in the wilderness for a welsh prince of devotion just search for the ear what
voice of opened one another and the terrible predicament a fee and now by the courage to believe that the word of the lord than the us don't work for peace in vietnam for racial equality unknown learn to purify their minds from contempt suspicion to cooperate in the land to bring about the direction of sensitivity coalitions people like the divine spark you know so to michoacan is to the spirit that this myth of the psalms openness to the mystery of living abraham decade of lebanon there have been twice to conceal explosive vests in the world than richard lugar who did not make it easy for us to have faith in him this is their collective insecurity of faith and
double burden of our commitment the first of the nine headed by an mit the arguments over the narcissism a worker in the events that defined him a spectacular faith is too often convergence even the cleveland book les mine danger of becoming her daughter's of faith is french you know then you best option there are no flying though ultimate firm troops for the existence of god of far from the only witnesses humanity even unfinished task and so these religions and the more likely that teaching them with them no idea yet the quote without the outputs
of prophetic moments coming up on us again and again to live in they become a fossil callers relate this one's ability we have americans in particular are greater than ever and truly or whale fact that we conclude and when word of urgency in the phone for stolen <unk> closer being with the chernobyl on the bible and the true and the story told of their sacrifice of isaac and finally caught isaac was on the way to a moment i leave this fall many layers that ball waiting to be certified well begin to be even faster writes that show did you lose some pity far is it the whole day been now lifted the ninth in omaha up food
in me that fact suddenly the voice of the angels paper laying out by an up on the lawyer following the gulf to go and yet broken out in two years and wept along where you can name for the teacher asked you know that i did was look you why a crime i said to him still weeping by that i'm supposed to be a new lead become a second too late the teacher a comfort to me come to me but the only an angel can come by an angel can come late but man made of flesh and blood may be linked with those that we may not be doing
