You They're Just call up anyone everybody
And apparently Who's the third person in the fall? In the punch. He's here? I don't think so. What happens when I finish? What happens when you finish? You sit down. What happens when you finish? I'll give you a second to stay in the middle. I'll wait. Okay. I'm trying to catch a minute. Ready? I can't. Could you just glance over here and see if we make more? Sit him in that chair. Sit him in that chair. Whoever comes next, I'm not sure. All right. But he's not there. I just keep moving. Yeah. You better get this. Two, three days. We'll leave you after that. Yeah. Yeah, let's keep let's be. Let's go down. That's right. That's right. Probably.
People come up to the church and say, yeah, yeah, yeah. Is that one? Sure. It's the little thing about you. That's going. Everybody's potential. It's not right. That's right. That's right.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah. As we stand here today in the quiet sanctuary of Riverside Church, people are dying in Vietnam. Every day as we wash our breakfast dishes and travel to our jobs, people are dying in Vietnam. Every day as our children play happily, people are dying in Vietnam. Americans have been dying in Vietnam for 15 years. And it is only a matter of time before the children in our playgrounds today
will be our young men dying in Vietnam. As a doctor who served in the United States Army in Vietnam, I have seen firsthand the treatment of hundreds of young men crippled by this insane war. I have seen some of the almost 40,000 who have been sent home to us in caskets since 1961. The Vietnam Memorial Reading was born of the conviction of several individuals that we cannot remain silent for one more day when people are dying in Vietnam. Every day we will mourn their loss by reading the names aloud. We will do this to tell our government that we have heard this war. We will do this to speak out every day.
As our conscience tells us we must. We welcome all who want to read, all who want to listen. Through the cooperation of the Council for Christian social relations of Riverside Church, we will be here every day until the war ends. We honestly hope that as a result of what we do here, that day will come soon. Edward Saloni's Jr., Chicago, Illinois, dead in Vietnam. Anthony John Schneller, Jr., Dalton, Illinois, dead in Vietnam.
