Series Description
"Ticktock Minutes is a very successful campaign of music videos designed to teach educational concepts to an audience of children ages 3-12. These one minute spots have been appearing on Mississippi ETV for five years and have been the vehicle for teaching such important lessons as Health and Safety, Environmental Awareness, Geography Skills, Library Skills and Manners. The most recent installment of lessons in this series is a collaboration between Mississippi ETV and NASA to teach the very difficult concept of remote sensing. This series concentrates on medical imaging, global positioning systems, weather forecasting, underwater and space exploration and even the magic of television. Currently, Ticktock Minutes is airing in over 31 states. Mississippi ETV has partnered with the US Department of Education and Americorps who recognized that this production conveys educational materials in a way that makes boring information, fun and exciting."--1999 Peabody Awards entry form.
