Series Description
"The Municipal Broadcasting System, in the interest of international understanding, devoted over 1500 hours in 1950 to the United Nations. This is more coverage than by any other radio station. Exclusive coverage of the historic 'Korean Sunday' meeting, called early that morning, and the succeeding day-to-day broadcasts of the United Nations' reaction to the situation are examples of this coverage. Further insights and emphasis to the proceedings of the day are given in a 'United Nation News Summary' five times weekly. Other programs fostering the coverage of United Nations news are a weekly quarter-hour commentary, a dramatic documentary series covering the many operations of the UN and its committees and organizations, and a Human Right's Day, December 10. Further attempts of the station to promote international understanding are programs of music of different nations."--1950 Peabody Digest.
