- "The Connection is a live call-in talk show distributed by Public Radio International that airs on 20 stations nationally. The Connection's comprehensive coverage of the Kosovo war began with a two-hour program at the start of NATO's bombing campaign. We have done more than thirty programs on the topic; the latest an hour-long reprise in December with the New York Times reporter Steven Erlanger. Our submissions: Bombing Begins --- A two hour special featuring the military analysts Barry Posen of MIT and Steve Berg of Brandeis University and reporters all over the region. 3/25/1999 Bombing Phase II--- Military Strategy and Policy Goals: a report on the stepped up fighting featuring the NATO General in Bosnia, Michael Rose, and British military analyst Jonathan Eyal. 3/31/1999 Human rights vs Sovereignty --- featuring Barry Posen of MIT and the New York Times' Anthony Lewis. A debate over the central argument of the conflict. 4/2/1999 The Refugee Century- featuring Chaim Kaufman of Princeton [University] and Christopher Merrill, author of The Old Bridge. 4/6/1999 KLA --- a discussion about the Kosovo Liberation Army with its top US fundraiser, Florin Krasnici, and Stacey Sullivan, a reporter who traveled with the KLA. 4/9/1999 Noam Chomsky --- a discussion of the great ornithological miracle, Vietnam doves who've become Kosovo hawks. US policy goals and means as understood by the MIT scholar and critic of US foreign policy. 4/12/1999 Kosovo diplomacy- an update with Ian Black, the Guardian's diplomatic editor, Roger Cohen of the New York Times, and Stanley Hoffman from Harvard University. 6/9/1999 Serbian Opposition --- featuring the Serbian historian Alexa Djilas, and a prominent leader of the Serbian opposition, Zarko Korach 7/7/1999 Kosovo: A review of the goals, the accomplishments, and the costs of the war with Steve Erlanger of the New York Times. 12/8/1999"--1999 Peabody Awards entry form.
