- Part Two of Claude Lanzmann's 1985 documentary film about the Holocaust. Roger Rosenblatt introduces Part 2 of "Shoah." Alfred Spiess, German State prosecutor, talks about Treblinka's commandants and reorganization. Spiess also talks about the Reinhard Action, which includes Treblinka, Sobibor, Belzec, the gas chambers, and three death camps. Jan Piwonksi talks about construction of Sobibor, and arrival of the first trains. Filip Muller answers questions concerning the Special Work Detail at Auschwitz, and talks about Maximilian Grabner, Franz Hossler, and Hans Aumeier. Raul Hiberg, historian, speaks in English about the bureaucracy of the Final Solution, including the stages of conversion, ghettoization, expulsion, and territorial solution. Franz Schalling answers questions about how he arrived at Chelmno, and his part in the Final Solution. He describes the gas vans, their drivers, and the process of killing Jews. Mordechai Podchlebnik talks about the first period of extermination at Chelmno, and describes what the gas vans looked like. Frau Michelsohn answers questions about families living in Kulmhof, and the castle. Claude Lanzmann reads a letter written by Rabbi Jacob Schulmann about Jews of Grabow being killed at Chelmno. Interviewees talk about Jews of Grabow and near by towns during the Holocaust, life with and without Jews, and how townspeople felt about what was happening to Jews. Frau Michelsohn answers questions about the Jewish Worker Squad, and what life was like in the town when Jews arrived. Simon Srebnik talks about the second extermination at Chelmno (the Church Period). People at a church (where Jews were taken before being gassed) talk about Srebnik, the Second Phase, death vans, and why the holocaust happened. Pan Falborski answers questions about speed and size of gas vans. Simon talks about building the ovens, and his understanding of what was going on at the time. A letter is read regarding the structure and operation of gas vans. Roger Rosenblatt interviews Claude Lanzmann about Lanzmann's depiction of Polish people during the Holocaust.
