Series Description
"HERE'S TO YOUR HEALTH is the only nationally televised series of programs devoted exclusively to personal health matters in the United States. The series has three main goals: 1.) To provide a continuing consumer guide to the medical care system and how to use it most effectively. 2.) To encourage the public to take more responsibility for their personal and family health in the prevention of disease. 3.) To provide responsible information about self diagnosis and treatment and when and why one should seek the aid of a professional. "The two examples of the series we have provided are HOSPITALS with Dr. Charles Sanders, Director of the Massachusetts General Hospital in a discussion of the modern hospital, with tips on how to use the hospital effectively, and HEART RISK FACTORS with Dr. Norman Kaplan of the Southwest Medical School, Dallas, in a discussion of personal habit patterns that lead to coronary problems and animated segments that detail what happens to the body when these habits are indulged in."--1979 Peabody Awards entry form.
