"It's not often that two of the world's greatest violinists and arguably the world's greatest orchestra share a stage. And it's rare when their common love for a composer comes to life when the musicians perform together. WTTW camera's captured all that and more at Chicago's Orchestra Hall in 'Mozart by the Masters.' "'Mozart by the Masters' pays tribute to the genius of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, perhaps history's most remarkable musical prodigy. "The music is enhanced by some of the world's finest musicians. Pinchas Zukerman conducts the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Itzhak Perlman is both host and featured soloist. In case things get too heavy, although that's unlikely with Mozart, Victor Borge 'explains' a Mozart opera in his inimitable way. All three performers examine their thoughts and feelings about Mozart's work and why it means so much to them.
