"The work of Sara Fishko (under the umbrella title The Fishko Files) represents the best of what WNYC Radio does as a provider of significant and adventurous cultural programming. As we looked for new ways to tell stories about the cultural life of New York and the nation, we turned to Sara'whose life as a presenter of classical music, film editor, and documentarian positioned her perfectly to become the primary voice of WNYC's cultural identity. "The pieces she producers are non-traditional in that they borrow from many forms to deliver passionate, forward-thinking portals into often inaccessible cultural topics. They are part journalism, part essay, part musing and they deal with the full range of cultural expression'from popular culture to high art. The consistent element, though, is Sara's narrative and style, always provocative and spare'pointing us in interesting directions while not telling us what to think. "Sara Fishko has been a fixture on the New York music and film scenes for decades. The Fishko Files is the culmination of those many years.
