"This film, unlike others on the subject of the Holocaust, offers a time line of events leading up to and during the Holocaust. Testimony from three Holocaust survivors is woven through a chronology of historical events that recount the horrors of Nazi Germany. From Hitler's rise to power in 1933, through his escalation of power in the late 1930's, to the creation of the Final Solution in 1942, Looking Into the Face of Evil clearly presents the most horrific campaign of extermination ever initiated against the human race. "This program merits consideration from the Peabody committee because of its clear and concise presentation of the events that lead up to and comprised the Holocaust."--1996 Peabody Awards entry form.
