Program Description
"Continental Harmony was created to introduce WXXI-FM listeners to the rich diversity of American concert music and musicians by exploring the many influences of immigrant cultures in the North American melting pot, and the many remarkable creations that resulted. "We believe that the series successfully combined an accessible style and format with substantive content, and brought to the general audience an awareness of the obscure yet influential creators of American music, in the context of much that is familiar and fascinating. "The series comprised 22 5-minute episodes that were broadcast during the national American Music Month, November 1995. "The enclosed cassette contains a selection of representative episodes. The DAT tape contains the entire series."--1995 Peabody Awards entry form.
