From Cincinnati we present the third of six programs by the la sol string quartet to. The series was produced by WG UC at the University of Cincinnati radio station and the programs were made possible by contributions from the friends of WGA U.S. quartet is now in its 13th year of residence at the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music. The quartet members are Walter Levine and Henry Meyer violins Peter comets are Viola and Jack Kirsteen cello later in the program. We are to hear the quartet number one by Gottfried Kearney and divorce Shock's quartet in F Major the American. The String Quartet in D minor written in Vienna in June seventeen hundred eighty three is the second of the Group of Six which Mozart dedicated to his dear friend Haydn and which was published two years later. This quartet show the new technique which the older master deliberately explored in his Russian
quartets of 1781 the principal of the magic development of every thought the equal distribution of the motivic material between all instruments obbligato accompaniment a basic feature of the classic style was Haydn's achievement. Mozart was profoundly influenced but he did not imitate Haydn independently. The quartet in D minor K for 21 by Mozart was played by the last

God freed them Koenig was born in Germany in 1926 he studied at the music academies in Braunschweig Detmold and cologne in 1054 Kearney became permanent staff member of the famous electronic studio in Cologne and later headed the electronic studio in built up in Holland going to visited the United States on a lecture tour last year at universities in New York Illinois and California. At present he is director of the electronic studio at the Dutch State University in Utrecht Holland. The string quartet was composed in 1959 and first performed by the LA Sal quartet in April 1960 at the University of Cincinnati. We now hear the quartet number one a composition of got fried and Koenig played by the LA soule string quartet.
