Hundred this is Clyde McLean inviting you to join us now for Project six days a project devoted to developing better standards in creative radio. Tonight's project 60 is in effect a continuation of a program which we did in February on the subject of flying saucers. We asked Joseph Myers who researched and wrote that program to look further into the subject of outer space objects and in particular to examine the subject of outer space communications. You will hear the results of that research and writing on Project 60 tonight. And now to our project 60 program on outer space communication. As you heard us rightly we did say outer space communication. And by this we do mean the communication was that some people say are coming to us from intelligent beings that inhabit other globes in our own solar system or even from the planets of other suns. Impossible.

Well of course it is especially since we are not even able to land upon the moon yet and come back. If you're skeptical of the whole idea of space beings and much more of communicating with them then welcome aboard so are we. However the last 100 years has seen an almost unbelievable number of impossible things become every day reality. Certainly we have to admit that the radio you're listening to right now is only one of these. We take it for granted now quite as easily as we do each morning sunrise. There are some interesting reports by astronomers that seem to suggest that even our own private satellite may have inhabitants that have occasionally tried to get through to us with some sort of communication. Early in the 19th century Sir John Herschel one of England's great astronomers reported seeing a strange bright light when the moon was darkened by an eclipse. Some of the lights he said seemed to be moving above the moon. Later is

startling geometrical patterns resembling city streets were seen by the astronomer who isn't. In 1869 a sudden eruption of mystery lights in regular patterns cost a three year investigation by the Royal Astronomical Society of Great Britain. Most of these puzzling lights were seemingly meritocracy I'm area where in 1953 a gigantic bridge was discovered that spanned 12 miles between supports and a straight line watched by dozens of astronomers but lights appeared circular groups triangular formations and straight lines. Their intensity varying as if by intelligent control. The Royal Astronomical Society would not admit it publicly some of its members believe that this was an attempt by an unknown race on the moon to signal to earth inhabitants until 1871. Careful records were made every night in the hope of decipher the messages and then after nearly two

thousand observations the strange lights ceased to appear. It may be that through space communications are not impossible but just extremely unlikely. We're going to take a look at this question with you but we promise to be completely open minded about it. In the past we've examined the reports of the UFO or the unidentified flying objects in our skies and speculated upon where they might be from. We found that the number of private researchers some very outstanding scientists and even a military leader the former British air marshal Lord dotting stated that they believe there are genuine unidentified objects in the skies that do not have there are a journal upon this planet. I will give just one of the many UFO sightings to illustrate their baffling nature. This particular sighting occurred on March 7th one thousand sixty. Here is the complete news story a as it appeared in The Atlanta Journal under a Dateline April seven thousand nine hundred sixty. The

headline was captain reports UFO Atlanta Georgia and Eastern Airlines captain has spent a month wondering what a giant wingless object which passed over his plane was and why no officials have come around to ask him more about it. According to the report drawn out of the somewhat hesitant Captain Lake huge craft spotting a quarter of a mile long tail of flame passed high above his turbo prop airliner at the speed he believed to be at least 6000 miles per hour remaining in clear view. About 50 seconds. The uncanny flight was witnessed by his pilot an engineer and the captain of another airliner flying below. While the two planes were just southwest of gardens Virginia. Another crew reported seeing it a few minutes later in South Carolina. He said Captain Earl w miles 28 years an airline captain with Eastern Airlines and the man who has a total of twenty six thousand six hundred ninety six flying hours and has traveled nearly

4 million miles by plane said that all three Cruise made reports to the proper authorities. He has heard nothing further on it and knows of no official release of the new. As Captain Miles himself related his story we were at 14000 feet and are lucky to Electra heading to 115 degrees south southwest between New York and Atlanta on March 7 at about 8:00 p.m. it was still fairly light at our altitude and visibility was perfect. I've never seen it so perfect. This thing came overhead just off our right side. We all three saw it. It was unlike anything we've ever seen. It was tremendous in size. It looked like a greatly enlarged fuselage of a modern plane barreling through the air. A great amount of white flame was streaming from the tail and the flame looked from out of distance like it was about a quarter

of a mile long. It was clearly visible including the outline of its shape and certain details. There were no wings or produces on the body that could have balanced or directed it. I could see no windows or markings but it looked like they were running lights around it. It was gone across the sky and disappeared in about 50 to 55 seconds. From what we know of flight speed it was moving at about 6000 miles an hour. We thought at the time it must have been only about 2000 feet above us. But after talking to the other crews you cited it it must have been much higher. I was talking to Airways control at the time and told them what we saw. Captain with flying a constellation below was reported. Same thing. A few minutes later we got a report from the Columbia South Carolina power saying they had faded. When you see something as clearly as we thought of that there is no mirage your imagination about it.

It's just there. The 51 year old captain said that he talked to his and other crews about it and they were all reluctant to report it for fear that they would be called crackpots. He said that Captain Neil in the constellation below told him later that he and his crew thought at first the object was the faster Elektra going overhead. But then the constellation crew recognized that it was something they had never seen before. He said that he and Captain Neil comparing notes later found their descriptions of the object to be the same. He said that the atmosphere is not encouraging for pilots to report UFO holes and that he would have said nothing if the observation had been less sensational. He identified his crew members as CB flood the pilot and John a bakery engineer. In addition to the two crew list Captain Miles said that another airliner had seen the object over Anderson South Carolina. The captain said that he did not wish to speculate on what the object might be other than it definitely was not any of the number of things that the Air Force has identified some of the sightings in the past as being. I am

commenting he said because of the flame I guess it would come closest to looking like a meaty are but I have seen many many meteors and this could not possibly have been one. The Atlanta Journal News story of April seven thousand nine hundred sixty just quoted was by reporter Ed Hughes. This sighting is an unusually fine example as sightings go. Still a sighting is one thing even a remarkable sighting such as this. But communications outer space communications from people who are away ahead of us technically. Well perhaps this calls for some kind of logical analysis before we start to examine the supposed communications. One of the most logical man that we know is Alan Newcomb the public affairs department of Jefferson standard Broadcasting Company Allen and Joe Myers talked about on a data fied flying objects flying saucers and the type of person that might occupy a flying saucer from outer space in Allen's own

logic. He defined his thoughts on the unidentified flying objects and what might be inside them. Well I think it's an either or process of logic so if I was. Introducing this subject your mind is concerned. There have been thousands of thousands of reports of an identified flying object. In nearly all the countries of Earth. Crowd psychology in many cases especially across the Iron Curtain couldn't very well play on the imagination because they didn't know about the others it was not that much communication in the news. And there are sensational stories straight stretching back into the 19th century. Such phenomena. Either they're true or they're not. If they're not nothing more need be said. If they are then the very nature of the sightings indicates First of all that these people have a very advanced science. People I say who these beings have a very advanced science can operate at complete ease. Therefore with that kind of science can be presumed to have

unlimited powers so far as controlling natural resources are concerned. Therefore I would be able. To completely overpower earth residents if they were of the militant kind of invader that we often see in science fiction movies. Therefore it cannot be that kind of people therefore must have good motives but those motives must include a knowledge that. Their best course of action is to stand guard over man. Not to force their presence upon him until he is ready for it. Humanity is ready for it. And in the mean time are playing a carefully calculated program of gradually accustoming men to the idea of their presence and of their beneficence motives. This it seems to me would all logically follow from the. Assumption that there are flying objects in the sky perhaps without eye Newcomes thoughts to help us we can give these communications a kind of

an acid test. We have also been scrutinizing the logic which we find in some books by scientists who have arrived at favorable views toward giving recognition to the reality of space visitors and the possibility of communications from them. One man of science who became interested in doing research upon this question of communication from outer space to mankind and of the meaning of the UFO in our skies was an astronomer of some note. This is John M or the late M K Jessup completed his the CES for the doctorate in astrophysics at the University of Michigan. He didn't operated the largest refracting telescope in the southern hemisphere in South Africa for the University of Michigan. His research program resulted in several thousand discoveries of physical double star is which are now catalogued by the Royal Astronomical Society of London. He also carried out independent research at the Maya and go ruins in Central America and Peru and

Mr. Jessop finds many references in the scriptures that indicate to him that mankind has been aided through trying times in the past by celestial beings or angels as they may have been termed it. His study of the data from ancient records of many lands and particularly the Hebrew Scriptures in conjunction with modern research upon the UFO laws gave him the basis for his linking as he does the celestial visitors of the past with the purported visitors in our skies today. His book is written

in a spirit of reverence and open mindedness toward religion which seems appropriate for a man of such outstanding dedication to the physical sciences. We shall also try to be both respectful and open minded but yet maintain a healthy skepticism. Taking our example from men like scientist Mr. Jessop as we look at this subject. Communications that claim and out of this world are edge and seem almost commonplace when we look around for them. With only the deepest respect for the inspired writings of religious figures we must say that many parallels between purported outer space communications and the Holy Scriptures of many lands are quite obvious. This is particularly true of one type of communications that are so often subjected to very scathing criticism. The communications which are given by trance mediums a trance medium is a person who lapses into a state of unconsciousness before speaking and when the medium speaks from this state. It is usually in a voice quite

foreign to his normal conscious voice. The gatherings for this sort of thing are called seances and in all fairness we must say that there appears to be a great deal of hocus pocus connected with them. However it is also impossible to make a thorough investigation of the source of communications without encountering a certain amount of data that goes far beyond the usual inane mumblings that one ordinarily expects to find when deluded people try to contact departed spirits in darkened rooms and pay for the privilege of being deceived by charlatans. We pored over many such communications at great length. We found some of them to be consistently in harmony with the ideals of Christianity in so far as teaching moral conduct was concerned. But also they linked together both Christian and Hindu religious philosophy in a manner that seemed to show nothing else of vast knowledge and insight into each of them. This is Louise Morris of

Alamogordo New Mexico. Transcribed a message supposedly from celestial teachers concerning the meaning of the space ships in our skies. The message is wordy and repetitious but we have extracted parts of it to show a cross-section of its content. As with generally all the purported messages from space beings we find frequent references to God and to biblical passages that describe coming events on the earth. The messages often identify the space people as the heavenly host that was promised by the Biblical scriptures to be sent to aid suffering mankind through the darkest hours of a great period of upheaval. The extract of this supposed spiritual teaching is read by Joe Myers. Those of us coming from sea left you know where I was just now coming into recognition by many of you on earth come and love to assist you into that which we have experienced. We changed many abrasions that we may come into that

atmosphere that vibration that wave length in which we may meet your consciousness. And as we come in so left to us yet there is much that we would explain to you that you may have a better understanding. We would desire that this message brought in to be called the spiritual import of the base yet. That which you call you Afros flying saucers flying platforms rather man can only dream and name that which is closest to something with which he is familiar. He looks at his own reflection. How presumptions can man be he must be put into a place of insignificance as a human being that he may recognize that he is only upon the footstool of God's great throne. And he will be put in his place. Now look under God and the power of all who have and will move through him he will become a functioning Son of God in a planetary hierarchy a solar system moving and God's purpose

and he will recognize that he is one of many sons of god created to bring about the destiny of all creation. In this sense he is important for he is an expression of the Almighty God. It is not important whether you see a shepherd see a light see a spirit. It is important that you see God in your now and know that he is not exterior to your being but one with you closer than breathing as you see this. He will experience light healing and understanding for you. You will be one with him. You shall see that the celestial ships coming from the other systems coming from their real worlds of reality coming into Christ come ma'am onto the planet earth bringing light and love even as the master overcame the grave

and brought light onto the planet. This is not a religion beloved. This is God Almighty expressing through this so he created through many channels and on many planes. The divine host is coming in the clouds around the planet Earth just as related and promised in your holy writings in the Bible which you treasure. This great promise which man has not understood. How many times has he closed the book of Revelation saying I do not understand. I will go about my way. I cannot understand it anyway so I will put it aside. It is only for those who can see it. But yet in this great book which men did not understand I had the explanations of the U afros. Man does not need to think of these as something coming to get him something coming

to war on him but rather let him turn his eyes upon the Christ. Let him look under the hills and know that the divine host coming in the clouds. Now the three last year ones promised to assist the planet to move into the reality of eternal life coming to compensate for to kind of for the radioactivity in your skies that which has come about because of the many castings of your atom bombs. This is part of our assignment to cancel out that which would destroy man which would destroy his reproductive powers which would destroy his planet and many come surrounding the planet that they may cooperate and minister on to the children of the earth until they have come into their for wisdom. changing the frequency and rate of vibration that they may enter into a point in which at times your inner eye may breach. There are many ships coming from the various planets with many and varied purposes. The wise man the shepherds those that would come in humility unto the cradle that had brought forth the new born king the celestial ships came in great clouds to lead the children of Israel as the pillar of fire by night as a great cloud by day and unto the mountain top at the mouth of Jesus and he was taken away in a great cloud while the three close with disciples
