Greetings verb of yours I'm Christie the wordsmith from Montana State University in Bozeman. The Cougar has the distinction of inhabiting the greatest range of any wild terrestrial mammal in the western hemisphere. This large tawny colored cat makes its home in territory extending from the Canadian Yukon to the Chilean Andes. The cougar is what is known as a generalist species it's adaptable and able to exploit every major American habitat. It preys on large Gillot such as deer elk and moose and domestic horses cattle and sheep but will also take insects and rodents when they're abundantly available. With many regional names the cougar is also known as the mountain lion and the catamount. While these two monikers are recognizably English cougar is based on an indigenous American word. It comes ultimately from Guarani one of the native languages of Paraguay and nearby parts of Brazil. The original Guarani word is thought by language scholars to mean false. Dear D E R. And probably
refers to the cat's tawny color although that's about all it shares with its harmless forest dwelling neighbor. The Oxford English Dictionary traces one of the word's earliest citations in English to seven thousand nine hundred to four years before America's nationhood was established. But you may very well have been thinking of a different use of the word cougar. Next time cougar as a woman man as prey. I'm Christi the wordsmith. Good day verb of course Christie the wordsmith is sponsored by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and Zoot enterprises. A high tech firm in Bozeman Montana offering challenging careers and innovative solutions for the financial services industry sued web dotcom.
