Welcome to the Montana Medicine Show. I'm Derrick strong. Ohio born James George better known as Yankee Jim came to Montana in 1863 in his words. He left home on the toe of his father's boot in 1873 Yankee Jim built the national park toll road a crude gated artery through the narrow canyon between Paradise Valley and Yellowstone Park the Rocky Mountain American observed Yankee Jim was ruthless in exacting the tribute but he was equally royal as a gracious host. A Park County Sheriff remarked. He puts in an average of about five days lapping up corn juice and telling the whopping us lies ever incubated on the Yellowstone and then ten days of neutralizing the effects of them by talking religion. Yankee Jim was furious when the Northern Pacific ended his toll road monopoly in 1883 neighbor gay Randall recalled every day when he heard the train coming he would rush out his long snow white beard waving in the breeze and with his bony hands clenched into fists. Fling cuss words from a seemingly
inexhaustible vocabulary of profane language Yankee Jim entertained thousands of tourists from poet Rudyard Kipling to President Teddy Roosevelt. He declared. People from all over the world have stopped at my place millionaire's Royal Dukes lords and presidents. I don't have a fancy house but they come to see me anyway. James George died in California in 1923. Workers replaced his toll road five years later. Front page realty studios. I'm Derek strong.
