This dictionary one of my favorites focuses on literary references from Roman Greek Egyptian and Norse mythology and from the Bible. The dictionary of classical and Biblical allusions contains over 2000 alphabetically arranged entries from Aaron the Old Testament Israel High Priest to Zoila ce a fourth century BCE Greek rhetorician the dictionary also features entries on concepts such as the Golden Rule dog days and eat up US complex. Each entry includes pronunciation definition and examples of how the phrase may be used. Let's look at the examples mentioned earlier beginning with vs policy.
