Greetings and welcome to Christie the wordsmith. The word C H I N A S M U S may not sound familiar but almost everyone has seen it in action. A literary technique cosmos is a reversal in the word order of two otherwise similar phrases. Here's an example. It's not the size of the man in the fight it's the size of the fight in the man orators writers philosophers wags and world leaders have used Kayasth statements to provoke and inspire the most famous presidential chaos most was uttered by John F. Kennedy during his inaugural speech of January 20th one thousand nine hundred sixty one when he urged Americans ask not what your country can do for you ask what you can do for your country. A century before Kennedy gave us this classic phrase another President Abraham Lincoln declared his chaotic wisdom as the Civil War raged. He said we trust that God is on our side. It is more important to know that we are on God's side. This expression was reprieved by Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry during his nomination acceptance address in July 2004.
We also find chaos in the sports world. Earl Woods father of Tiger once said you learn very little about golf from life but you learn a lot about life from golf. A charming quirk of speech is a reversal in the word order of two otherwise similar phrases. Mus. is spelled m u s m Christie the wordsmith from Montana State University in Bozeman.
