Okay, um, you described some of your work as bone deco. Talk to me a little bit about bone deco. What exactly is bone deco? Um, my interpretation of bone deco is contemporary self-less on any type of bones. Whether it be gold leaf, mixed symbols done with acrylic or flowers, just plain silk flowers and ribbons. So, um, what type of work do you do? Do you consider your work strictly bone deco or do you consider it art? I believe that bone deco is art. Um, I think just a stark white skull, just plain white, is art.
Whether it's in a gallery or out on the mesa. I believe it's art. Um, why do you use skulls? I mean, why, um, they seem to be fairly young and skulls seem to be, I think, um, a symbol of death and age and things like that. Why do you choose skulls to, um, to decorate? Um, I think bones are really exciting medium for an artist to work with. It's very inspirational because I think of Georgia O'Keefe. Um, and just because they're so beautiful, um, just stark white. So they're very exciting to work with. You mentioned Georgia O'Keefe. Okay, um, you mentioned Georgia O'Keefe. Um, what part does she play and you get interested in bone deco? Um, Georgia O'Keefe had a really big role in as far as what I'm doing because, um, she's my idol and I've always had a fixation on her beautiful bone paintings, her bones out in the desert, and also her, her landscapes of New Mexico have been extremely inspirational for me.
Has an artist do, um, you think they represent your culture truly? What I do? Yes. Oh, definitely, definitely, yes. Um, you said earlier that you like to, um, incorporate your culture and your work. Talk about that a little bit. Okay, um, basically I have a Holy Series, Holy Ghost, Holy Spirit, Holy Cow, um, and then the Deoro, which is a Spanish for a gold, which is my gold piece. And I'm also designing some new pieces which are going to be named in Spanish names. The Holy Series represents my love for my religion, I'm a Catholic, and most Catholics, most Hispanic people, have a great love for their religion, and I've incorporated the Catholicism into my work.
Okay. Um, you were saying something about Amantachine piece. Yes. Is that, um, a symbol of your culture as well? Yes, it is. Definitely what Amantachine is. Okay. Amantachine is a spirit dancer without a face. And the whole celebration of the Amantachines is the celebration of Cortez Winimimilincho over. And I'm very excited about this piece. It's going to be, uh, a five foot six, uh, Amantachine. And, um, I've been thinking of a few names for it. I think it's going to be called Death of Amantachine, and it's going to be a five foot six, Amantachine, all made out of bones. Okay. You see this here? That's great. You can pick. And you almost would refund your books too. Ooh, this is great. God, that is beautiful. That's a nice piece.
See, black and white is just gorgeous. The color is going to be different. Yeah. It's just a nice black and white day. Yeah. And he takes one of the slides for the brochure. He just does black and white. Yeah. It makes me want to keep that beat. Yeah. Like some white and white is just a black and white. I think if you try to find a level, I love the fucking thing about our kitchen stuff. And it comes out of a fixer. I don't know what it is. I don't know what it is. I don't know. I'm going to go ahead and walk.
And stop and look at the rain cloud. Now walk off. Okay, we're going to go. Walk a little slower for me. Okay, and now look over at the rain cloud. Walk over a few more steps. And stop. Perfect. And now walk off. Are you ready there? Go, John. Walk over a little more and now walk off. Okay, let's do one more real quick. Here is rolling. Go, John.
Slow your walk down a little. Now keep walking. I'm going to stay static. Look at the real it. Did you catch it? No, but if we get lucky. Go.
Okay, you're going to have to take a teeny step in next time. Stand by. Go. Too far. Better. Okay, walk off. Marks in the movie. Go ahead.
Okay, I'm doing this all right. I got it. Walk off. Yeah, it's not something that you don't know how to do it. It's a lot of fun with water.
Yeah, it looks like a sick cow or a lost calf. You can see he's got his well over his ears as well. You're a dick. Come on, don't do that to me. Okay, I think all done. All right. Stand by. Go.
Wind, blew us off our marks here. Stand by. Go. Okay, now walk across. Okay, come by. Go ahead. Yeah, okay. Stand by. Go. Go ahead. Go ahead. Go ahead. Go ahead.
Go ahead. Go ahead. Okay, let's do the reverse. You'll land there. Come on back.
Stand good, blow it off the second man. Stand by. Go. Okay, little slower on the walk, please. Go ahead. Okay, I'm going to use that now. Stand by. Go.
Stand there. Go ahead. Go ahead. Go ahead. Go ahead. Go ahead.
Go ahead. Go ahead. Go ahead. Go ahead. Go ahead. Go ahead. Go ahead. Go ahead. Go ahead. Go ahead. Go ahead. Go ahead.
Go ahead. Go ahead. Go ahead. Go ahead. Go ahead. Go ahead. Go ahead. Go ahead. Go ahead.
Go ahead. Go ahead. Go ahead. Go ahead. It's a rollout. God, those are beautiful clouds. Stop talking. Let me still on them and skulls with eyes still in the socket.
So definitely, yes, it's a pretty morbid business, but now it just doesn't face me at all. It's, it's, it's art. What do you do with with the stuff? I mean, the remains. Basically, it's just disintegrates. It just but all boils up. There's not much left. There's not much left.
There's not much left.
