Papa John is a musician a storyteller and a humorist who says he plays only to make people feel good. Ladies and gentlemen please give a warm welcome along with which Thompson You're beginning to look awfully familiar butch. Thank you thank you. Thank you. You know I just love to watch those old movies on television late at night and sometimes on Sunday afternoons. And how do you like watches old movies. Something really great about watching them and I want to do a little takeoff on one of those as sort of a section out of a Busby Berkeley type movie the kind done during the 1980s with Mickey Rooney and Judy Garland there were those great old flicks. Well we're going to do it this is a story where the children that young kids the teenagers are sitting down at a soda fountain someone are all sitting around dejected you know on set
around saying oh if we could only find some way of raising some money because they needed money for a special occasion you see and they're sitting around and nobody could think of any way and they don't have any jobs and finally someone leaps up and says See we can put on a shoal. And everyone else jumps up and starts throwing in ideas and one says My dad has a barn we can use that to put the play on and someone else's Hey my mom has costumes up in the attic and some of them my dad's a printer we can print up the programs and why they're just gone and everything's going to be great and someone says oh but we don't have a star for the show. Every last you know on so they're just sitting around there saying oh are we going to get for a start just at that point is in walks Mickey Rooney right Mickey Rooney watches it and says Leno comes and says Hi gang you know hey I've just heard this great new hit song and they say Oh Mickey. Want to sing it for us all be so great and so they sit down and says All right I'll sing if you'll sing it with me you know and so he takes a napkin and he writes on the napkin with the lipstick he gets from one of the girls he writes all the words on this napkin just the words. He goes over the piano and he sits down a pianist is in
front of you play some piano right. So what we have played a piano. So he goes over and sits on the piano and Freddie's real dumb looking looks at him and he starts playing and all of a sudden he's just playing this incredible piano all reading those words written on the napkin. He just playing away there and all of a sudden you hear 100 40 piece orchestra all coming out of Freddie's piano because there's not one of the musician in the entire place. Well we're going to do that I'm going to play the part of the hero of this movie and play the part Mickey Rooney would have played and any one of you that would like to can be Judy Garland of course and who is my yes my star with me and I'm going to I'm going to go off and re-enter like Mickey Rooney coming into this club and I want you to play the part of the teenagers in the club. OK I'll get your parts. OK. Say you know I just heard this great new hit song. You'd like me to sing. Okay I'll sing it if you'll sing it with me all right. It goes exactly like this.

a tune for my latest album called Going Home. And this is a song composed by you Utah Phillips the golden voice of the Great Southwest. And I'm very proud to say I'll be doing a concert with Bruce Phillips Bruce's real name. Most people call him Utah because he's from Utah a strike on Utah. And we're doing a concert special concert at the World Theater downtown St. Paul this coming Thursday March 19th. It's a special concert because it's being put on by. An organization of performers. It's the first time in a long time that since 1900 formers have done anything to help themselves it goes like this. Give me a train with an all night bar. Wherever I go we can't be too far come only to rock me to sleep in a Pullman car. I'm going to ride those trains again. I got the black smoke rolling from the stack. The moment. I mean clear the track. I'm going to show my guitar up there. I'm going to those trains
come on sing with me give me a train with that wherever I go it can beat you by loaning me this name in a home and I'm going to train a brand new set of trains but a subsidy a no substitute for brains. They really want to see those old trains roll a little heart I mean. Take all these old and put back the cold I was all right it was raining again. Wouldn't you give me a train with that. But wherever. I go we. Can. Take you. By. Me to sleep. You know. Oh man. I'm going. To show. You.
And. Take away the. Order he's taken on the dinner. Like. That was a good old time. Now it looks like I'm gonna run out of run at least I'm bankrupt. Yes give me a train. Where. You know. I'm gonna.
