Florida as one of the genres most innovative vocalists and I you're till a percussionist
whose distinctive reputation began through his work with Miles Davis. Flora now you're told we're part of chick Korea's group Return to Forever and later they form their own group called the Rhythm Devils who performed on the soundtrack of the film Apocalypse Now. Both of them constantly redefined the musical boundaries of jazz. And together their innovative sound with its strong Brazilian influence continues to keep them in the forefront of contemporary music. Welcome please. Flora parin and I are two. Where.

Our next guest Tom Lieberman Arnie Fogle and terror on Bay were brought together about a year ago for Garrison Keillor's Prairie Home Companion a show on which they regularly appear. Their repertoire is a refreshing look back into the pop music history due in part to the unique backgrounds of the performers. Through his work with the radio the station that plays those golden oldies singer Arnie Fogle has become an expert on trivia and song titles. Tom Lieberman was a founding member of the original Rio Nido which gave him a wide repertoire of
early 30s and 40s vocal tunes into Ron Bay is currently a member of the 16 voice Minnesota vocal jazz ensemble. I believe everyone in life should have a mission to making people happy is the height of my ambition. I didn't you know when I make them happy Well they generally as a rule most of the time stay in that condition. I've got a system. I've got a lot a lot of what I've got. And what I've got so I assure you I can't hear you if you come up and see me sometime. And
if you. Thank you gentlemen a little later on in the show. Flora told us a story today
about a jazz pianist that she met in Brazil 17 years ago. The pianist was so good the floor begged to be able to sit in with him and later with the three of them formed a group. The pianist said she was talking about Manfrotto fest and for the past 15 years Manfrotto has played and lived in the Twin Cities area. He says that he's a jazz musician who plays classical music. And so tonight we're going to hear a little of both. Welcome please fast. Now we're going to show you yet another side of Manfred enormous talent at this time.
There's a jazz pianist and he will be joined by his dear friend Jazz vocalist. A. Thank.
You. Yes I do want to tell you my friend has three excellent albums out right now and he is currently working on his fourth. Also he's going to be playing at the buttery in St. Paul starting this Thursday which is April. So go and see him and is quite a talented man and we're lucky to have in our area. Before I bring those terrifically talented trio that doesn't make sense. Back with us of Lieberman Folan Bay. I want to tell you a little bit about next week's show we have with us a flying care months off brothers who are insured that you've heard about. Also with us is Colonel Ray and Glover and violinist Jim Price and ECM recording artist Steve Tibbetts who have written some songs exclusively for our show so that should be an excellent show next week. And in two weeks is a show that I'm sure many of you have heard about already. It is the all woman show we have thirteen excellent women musicians from around this area in all different styles of music we've been combining forces for quite some time now in rehearsals so that's our show in two weeks time.
And now once again with an all great favorite welcome please leave her in full. See.
