- Hoop Dreams is the extraordinary epic of two talented young basketball players and their dreams of making it to the NBA. The documentary follows William Gates and Arthur Agee, both from inner-city Chicago, throughout their high school careers, as they come of age amidst the pressures of family, school, society, the sports establishment and their own desires to "make it." The program provides a dramatic and intimate portrait of their triumphs and heartbreaks on and off the basketball court.
