Night times is a production of Katie see a gentle to me. Live from the Twin Cities. This is night time as variety with Michelle barber. Thank you from one of Chicago's most dynamic blues guitarists is with us tonight. I just got done with the weekend at the union bar where the crowds were so big they had to turn people away. I hope those people are able to watch tonight judging from the rehearsal today. Sun has the ability to melt the snow off your roofs. Also with us is three gentlemen who enjoy playing their music as much as we enjoy listening to it on piano is Minnesota's Butch Thompson who carries an international reputation as one of the top traditional jazz pianists anywhere. He's here with
drummer red magic and bassist Bill Evans to round out a trio that plays the traditional music of Scott Joplin Jelly Roll Morton and others with joy and enthusiasm. Welcome please. That was Butch Johnson trail they'll be back a little later on. They say that my next guest
was born into the blues he grew up in a back room of his father's club in Arkansas where blues greats such as Sonny Boy Williamson and Albert King were frequent performers with musicians like that playing lullabies knew the blues before it was out of the cradle by the age of 18. He had formed his own own band and then went on to perform with Earl hooker and later Albert King who is his mentor and is based in Chicago where his four albums and his sizzling live performances have earned his reputation as that city's hottest young blues man. And in Chicago the city synonymous with hard driving blues. That's quite a reputation. Along with this band please welcome Son Seals. Can you.
