- This was the first of a two-part conversation with journalist William L. Shirer on his experiences reporting from Germany and other parts of Europe during the rise of Hitler and through World War II. In this interview, Shirer discussed his memoirs, the appeal of Adolph Hitler, and his thoughts on German reunification and the German people.
