RODERIC: Doctor, yeah. But, we... you know, actually we... we don’t much use the, the title doctor in Oberlin, less formal than that, you know? But, Hasu Patel always calls me Dr. Knight. So, I guess for the wider world it’s proper to say, Dr. Knight, yeah.
Q:
RODERIC: Uh, professor of ethnomusicology, emeritus. That is, I’m retired.
Q:
RODERIC: Oberlin College, oh, um, professor of ethnomusicology at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music.
Q:
RODERIC: I met Hasu fairly early on when I came to Oberlin in the late 1970’s. She was already here living in Cleveland I believe and, um, the person who taught here before me, um, had met her and mentioned that we had a North Indian musician nearby and so I don’t remember the specific event but I met her fairly early on.
