- Episode Description
- All of us know that a cat doesnt have nine lives but in this episode we see some animals that are two-lived in the respect that many of them can live both in water and on land. Theyre neither fish nor mammal but all are call amphibians. Dr. Robert C. Stebbins, associate professor of zoology at the University of California and author of Amphibians of Western America, discusses three groups of amphibians: frogs, toads and salamanders. He explains what amphibians are, some of their habitat requirements, and how they protect themselves. We see some of the many different species and how one of them a tree frog develops form an egg to a completely formed animal. (Description adapted from documents in the NET Microfiche)
