Mr. Goldovsky is responsible for the revolutionary methods of operatic production. His techniques of ensemble singing have been displayed in his own New England Opera Theatre and also during a national tour which included 26 states of the nation. In the climax of this series, these outstanding staging techniques are fully explained and demonstrated with members of the Chatham College Opera Workshop. Series Description
Boris Goldovsky shares with the television audience his knowledge of opera, his philosophy of operatic production. Mr. Goldovsky is known throughout the nation as the genial master of ceremonies of Opera News on the Air, the intermission feature of the Metropolitan Operas Saturday afternoon broadcasts. Opera for Today was produced by WQED, Pittsburgh, with Arthur Schoep of the New England Opera Workshop as producer and John W. Ziegler as director.
