How much later oh you're. Already what that government is hard like. Well here you go. Oh you know. What. I got. You. Will.
You. Right.
Right now. We were. There.
You. Know. You know what. But. Oh. Yeah.
Right. With a warm up for you for.
Everyone that has stopped. It's good to see you this evening and it's kind of kind of down. I'm not talking for nor for the future and I was going to be sunny. Day Saturday with no rain last night rain this morning and the fact that it was going to clear off well we're going to write him a letter. Right. There. We go. Oh really. Yeah. You know that we come out here too. It's good that we the first few years we were so very serious. Lee I don't think we kind of go for TOT story thing light heartedly. We've been doing this for 11 years now and I think we're becoming a part of one another and a society
that we can start joking around a little bit. Not taking ourselves so seriously that we can't have some fun even though this is a serious time and. We come to light a candle for it. The people who are. There people will die if they're 1850 which town can you remember them and that they did not die for no cause that they allowed that they gave us the legacy need to be strong to move forward to remember the past
and to remember that our children are our future. We lost many things back then but we have regained them with your help with all of your help and we like to have another song after reading that letter that's all I'm going to think of all the grandmothers song in the world of your grandmother did a little bit of respect for your grandparents your grandmothers moved out the few I. Know you. I am. The really
the the good the the o. The the the the. The. The. The. The the
the. That's right. Right.
Yeah. Larry.
The rest of my life. You know. You're right.
I count as a real privilege to be here and to have to feel the. Pain with people who have experienced it. Some months ago at our church we had Cheryl come with her tribal council and we we repented for what church people did not do in 1868 and we asked for forgiveness and we have committed to be a part of the sacred site memorial until it's completed. I just want to thank our creator for his grace that he can restore after we have torn and pray that God's greatest riches blessings. With touch that we are
people and he will restore many fold what was taken from them. And I bless you in the name of the Lord Amen. Oh you know the announcement of the vigil went out all over the world and I just wanted to just let you know that they're there and there's people in Germany that is lighting a candle tonight. There's people and Kentucky and Tennessee and San Diego Oregon Washington. There's people in Nevada Arizona Sacramento There's even people in Eureka who said that they couldn't make it but they would make sure that they light a candle tonight.
We light a candle. And we have to remember not only those who died in 1860 but those who passed on this past year. That each council table bluffs. We always try to remember those who have gone on. People will call us up and we'll put it right into our meeting minutes that we have prayed for this family of people that have died. We pray for the people who have been injured and who are hurt and who are sick. And we put that in our minutes as well so it's a time. To call you out for your and our counsel that tell us what's been happening in our community and not just focusing on the terrible bluff we are but the whole community. We also look to the little one my grandma used to take a drive to.
She was here last year. She was in her lawn a warm place she heard the people praying and talked. And today she's scared person completely off. And this is why you do it for me and my generation that we come together for me and my generation. Because you're giving us our leg with food. We have our elders. We have our little ones and we have all of us that are in between and we make this world we make this one big family. And it's it's really our journey the way our people have come to made a journey back to the silane and we have purchased with the help of everybody. 1.5 very close of them.
And today we still play it out and take try to take care of it and make it look like what it may look like create hundred fifty. Prayers are hard to come by sometimes and I would like to just offer this small for everyone but just give your moment a soft quiet heart. Think of the positive things this year that you have to do and you can remember that this is the way the time of starting a new year. So we're trying to set things right. If you don't feel right about something ask to make it right within yourself. And today I came pretty tough. I almost didn't come. I was.
Not doing too good today. But the closer I got to being here I got better and I could know that I would see people that I haven't seen probably in within a year. I knew I was going to see them and I knew that my family would be here supporting our tribe and myself and I knew I had to be here. And it it's good because now I don't feel so heavy and I feel much lighter in spirit than I did two hours ago. Creator Father God above old man. We come today to ask for your forgiveness for the way we act. Throughout the year and the way we act today
we ask that you abuse watch over us. We ask for your blessings upon this people and upon the friends of this people upon its families we ask you to stand watch over us as we plan our future that we cannot do anything without you. We have to seek you and your guidance creator god what a mighty and awesome God you are. That you knew each one of us from the womb before our names was even whispered in our ear. We thank you for this time together of healing. We thank you for this time of song and prayer. And we thank you for the essence of your breath that fills our lungs Creator be with us
as we step forward into our new year. May your guide our path when the road gets bumpy that you would take her hand and then when we get so lagged behind that you would encourage us along and then when we cry and feel life is so hard that you pick us up and carry us created God it is ask you to be with us today and bless this gathering as we become one. And as ground I would say when she finished her whole. Oh now you have another song. Hard work.
Right.
Now.
Oh yeah now.
I must run a shit load. Let. Me ask you this one hand. Oh yeah. It is one of those of you that don't know that song that we're just saying there's a song that's singing about the Earth not the sun which means our mother to this earth when the cop gets on its surface in the jungle in a beautiful manner not stopped on the air. Might I continue to exist in my canoe to continue to recover. Should And then my people to college to help me on this please to
college to help me. I'm having a hard time there are days I struggle with what this life has got to offer to me and as I look in out of my foot relatives out here I'm asking to come and help me with this song I'm saying with this drum that I'm drumming on with this dance that I'm dancing. They're all my relatives this is what I want for myself. Help me in this way. That's what that song is saying do we have anyone else that would like to offer a song or a dream or a home or something that they have written. You want to come back. I've only watched. Right.
Here. Where. I don't like the middle of the. Rice talk about the world they were making. Someone else. Saying he might. Have been with the. Crowd might try something
out of the dark. In the dog park. Still the silence was so much like the end of the world out on the island in the middle of the sunset. Blood spill. Survivor The Dark Knight we
know it's not over. No it's not our fight it's just. Take our time to regroup. I have addressed that we will have to give it our best. Morning light. Shining in the middle of the day. How is a car. Repair five ride trip or
for Cheryl and Rick out so we are for table block and all people are you when he's not around so I got got to read the letter. But. Yeah. There Well it changes every dog on the. Left. And. There was a set of right handed. Surely you know that you. Know we do have. Yes I do I want to prevent the second sight for the benefit last Saturday night. We're very honored to be a part of this. Your help out in any way that we can we're just a small group of musicians that got together and just put on a show hoping to help out and when the King thank you.
Merely to play with fire you were to get ready. You've always been well she just want to sit next to them next to you early and often let me tell you I would just like to offer a prayer a prayer that comes from. Awakening heart among my people who cause the pain and the anguish of that day in 1860 and the years around that day thanking thanking our God for a day awakening of our consciousness from the world. Which has been gradual a myth among our people that awakening us to
the enormity of what happened and that it's the healing has begun. I've watched it over 11 years and I do believe that healing has begun and there is more that needs to happen. But none of us can father through it without being aware being aware of hurting others trying asking for help to to live together to embrace differences because differences are what makes the world so rich and to continue to live in peace and with that peace will come enough. And that means leaving our greed behind leading our tendency to want to bury what start
letting the healing power of creation in the hands of the Creator who who gave us gives us life flow into our lives today. To make this place in this part of the world the holy place it was created to be and that spread from here to out until it well I brace the whole world. But I think it's why we're here. Father and I think you are trying to tell us that will. Help us all to be open to that to continue. Thank you like on that. Oh we won't
make. It. Through this. But let. Me tell you from Humboldt County part of he'll. I'm both Evangelical Alliance and what that is correct. Well we did an offering of the last couple of weeks in our churches and we wanted to present the people for their memorial for the purpose of building a more moral here a check for $3000. You know. That's the. Only one. We. Can hear is love to go live the life.
Of the Shirley don't let your people tell you what you know. Yes. So we can take them both to the fact that I didn't really know you. But you look at the. Way that people were trying to hang out together a little bit. And I will sing a song. Coming home. I can remember it. You did not hear it. So we are coming home. We're coming back. There may be only one piece of that. But it's a step by step. No no no
no no. It's.
Funny and it just seems appropriate there. Yeah yeah in my book. Not a cop no not yet.
Do we have anyone else who would like to say anything. If not I'm sure. Oh like they do it. If. You join you know heart. You and I are secured by our action and all of us have a special place in our heart that we can think of and that we know that you know our child is in our heart what then those precious moments in our life. Where is that everywhere and so with that in mind. I think the song we do with the little
tree was up bright red. You really just don't know. Boy this made me feel so happy. It was just so happy to understand. And then he seen two people walking by there one leaned over to the other one and said something then. And that's what made that little tree so happy and felt so good and so little true creator is the creator. I want to let them be like people greener. You heard that many. And he knew that this was true with that little tree and it was a good way to. Use it. How many first time here tonight.
We like you. Let me know. That's very funny. This is. Really. Funny if. It is so good to see all of you here all the new faces to your voices. People will be heard. Because we can do it by ourselves. We have to have all of you there here and that were here that we welcome you all to our country that we want you to be
here and enjoy your time here to celebrate life because that's what we are about his life. And with that before I let you all go I have got a captive audience for the liver. Somebody had asked about the art auction. And we're giving ourselves a rest this year but we're going to Kohl's for pledge next year so we will be having take and we hope to see you next year. The last Saturday of February. Don't wait for it is the station. Even if we don't show up coming anyway. One. Little. Piece we will. Let you watch tonight. All.
Right well I'll tell you my much the time that she was. The real. Heavy here. Yes I was.
