Congratulations Thomas. As I work my way down front Congratulation to St. Thomas in Salem and what a wonderful game I wanted an audience what a great game. Well we do. Renu because of the three games that these two teams played in our preliminaries and right through to our semi-final even of a week ago that Salem ad that would be a dynamite game and it wasn't our congratulations to St. Thomas here tonight. This is what it's all about and grant us state challenged we started with 16 teams as we said and we had some outstanding teams. Matter of fact the first game that they played against Manchester West was one of the best in Manchester West I thought was one of the better teams Lowell series and they were gone in week number one. So we congratulate all the 16 teams who played with us this series. I would like to introduce a gentleman who is representing the company who writes this makes it all possible and that is the Public Service of New Hampshire and Representative tonight is John Edwards. John.
Thank you very much. The people of New Hampshire Public Television are fond of saying that there are no losers on the Granite State challenge. Certainly those of us who've watched through the semester and watched these young people here tonight have to agree that that is indeed the case. So it's with great pleasure that on behalf of the shareholders of public service New Hampshire I present checks to two sets of winners. The first check for $250 goes to Salem High School excepting will be Kathleen. Richard laying low. And Richard to civil. On behalf of Salem High School I'd Like to thank Channel 11 for allowing us to participate in
the Granite State challenge. And I liked him particularly applied the St. Thomas Aquinas team for an outstanding job this evening as well as our own team. I'm very proud of both teams they did an excellent job. Thank you. Accepting a $500 check for St. Thomas Aquinas high school will be Kathleen Fisher and Brian Hall. On behalf of all of this St. Thomas Aquinas. My thanks but the thanks and credit really have to go to these men right here. Dennis very proudly. Thank you. Thank you all very much. So we know that first of all you can tell people at home I'm sure can tell that the community is a very very supportive to this program but the people in
the administration of the school districts and throughout the state are also very supportive. We like to recognize in the audience tonight from the St. Thomas Aquinas district the superintendent of Catholic schools and and sister Pauline LaBelle the secretary of education on youth services in the Diocese of Manchester where they stand and from the Salem District we'd like to recognize the superintendent of schools Dr. Paul Johnson. This has been fine. We told the audience here tonight that these teams are no different than any of the 32 teams that have come before us starting back in the fall and then into the spring series in the first game. They generally walk into our very cramped studio soon to be larger I hope in another year or so. But they come in and they say what am I doing here playing Trivial Pursuit on television so people in four states can see me and again
they're a little bit more relaxed third game they're very very relaxed and their personalities come out. And we've had eight very fine personalities here and participating tonight and we think they put on a splendid show. Now four of these personalities are going to come right back here on May 23rd because we have one more go around. It's called Super challenge. The winner of our fall series win us Guam regional high school a very strong team will be taking on this team St. Thomas Aquinas high school for the super challenge may 23rd.
