Description
Description
Wraps: In the woods go back and visit the life and music of John Taggart, a farmer and fiddler who lived in 19th century Sharon, NH. We visit the haunts of a man who was the pre-eminent entrepreneur of his time--millionaire Frank Jones. We continue with the Robert Frost series of poetry with the poem entitled "The Census Taker.". A folk music group called the "NH's Fiddlers Union" has resurrected some old fiddle tunes from the recently discovered 19th century mongraph on life in the town of Sharon written by farmer, fiddler, and entertainer John Taggart.. Historian Ray Brighton takes Fritz on a tour of the life and haunts of Frank Jones, King of the Alemakers. We see the former Jones Brewery, the Jones mansion, the Jones tombstone, and other Jones legacies which show the mark this man left on the region.. A reading of the Robert Frost poem "The Census Taker". This poem's narrator encounters an abandoned lumberman's shack while on a census. The eerie setting, with its absence of people, sparks the speaker's imagination. Sorrowfully, he tallies the missing people inside the wreck of the shack, as evidenced by the telltale clues and objects of its missing inhabitants.
