Description
Description
Highly specialized child porn investigators have exhausting jobs and face high burn-out rates. Investigator Timothy Palchak told the Washington Post what its like to pretend to be a child molester, to spend hours trolling the internet for child porn, Those sounds -- the crying, the screaming on the videos, are embedded in my brain forever." Soon Timothy may not need to spend his days searching for child pornography. Researchers from Dartmouth College have teamed up with Microsoft and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children to create Photo DNA. Here to tell us more about how it works and whether it could revolutionize child porn investigations is Hany Farid, director of the Neukom Institute for Computational Science at Dartmouth.
