- This episode of the series "Louisiana Legends" from September 7, 2010, features an interview with General Charles Campbell conducted by Beth Courtney. Campbell, a native of Shreveport, served as the 17th Commanding General for the United States Army Forces Command (FORSCOM). He discusses: studying history at LSU; the usefulness of the humanities; his professor, T. Harry Williams; his role in commanding special forces during the Vietnam War; the tradition of military service in his family; working with the armory in Fort Hood, Texas; his time with the military in Europe; the collapse of the Soviet Union; the effects of changing technology on the military; the 1991 Gulf War; the threats of terrorism and adapting to a changing enemy; supporting soldiers coming back from war; the increasing activation of the National Guard; what it means to be a Louisianan; and seeing Hurricanes Katrina and Rita from Korea.

- General Charles C. "Hondo" Campbell, a native of Shreveport, earned his commission through ROTC at LSU. General Campbell was the 17th Commanding General, United States Army Forces Command (FORSCOM). Campbell's military awards and decorations include the Distinguished Service Medal, Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Special Forces tab, and the Parachutist Badge.
