- This episode of the series "Louisiana Legends" from August 18, 2000, features an interview with Marc Breaux conducted by Gus Weill. Breaux, a native of Carencro, was a dancer and choreographer for several films, including "Mary Poppins," "The Sound of Music," and "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang." He discusses: learning English at age six in Lafayette; taking music lessons; his move to New York and subsequent discovery; getting his start in choreography with Michael Kidd; his work on the "Fred Waring Show"; studying acting under Sandy Meisner; meeting his wife, choreographer Dee Dee Wood; his friendship with Louisiana choreographer Peter Gennaro; his experience directing Fred Astaire; choreographing "Mary Poppins"; his recent health problems; the importance of family; and his advice to those starting out in show business.
