Description
Description
Two time Grammy Award-winning country star Pam Tillis performes many of her greatest hits in an intimate concert at the Bull Shoals Theatre of the Arts. Highlighted in the program are: Mi Vida Loca (My Crazy Life), which earned Pam a 1996 Grammy Award nomination for Best Female Country Vocal Performance; Shake the Sugar Tree; Calico Plains, written by Matraca Berg; I Said a Prayer; Ring of Fire, written by Johnny Cash; and a medley of her No. 1 hits, including Spilled Perfume, Let that Pony Run and All the Good Ones are Gone. Often described as a survivor and a pioneer for a new breed of female country stars, Pam began her musical career at the age of eight by studying at Nashvilles Blair Academy. Once in college, she began playing in nightclubs and eventually moved to California, where she became a jazz singer. As the lead singer of the band Freelight, Pam learned she could sing virtually anything and earned her first major label contract with Warner Bros. Records. Her first album pop, not country met with little success, convincing her to return to Nashville in 1979. In 1989, she signed with Arista Records for what would become a long-standing and successful relationship. She began touring with the best in country music, including George Strait, Alan Jackson, Vince Gill, Alabama and Brooks & Dunn. She was named the Country Music Associations Female Vocalist of the Year in 1994 and also earned Country Music Televisions Video of the Year award. Pam recently released her newest album, Its All Relative, Tillis Sings Tillis. The album is a tribute to her father, Mel Tillis. Five out of seven of her pervious albums have certified either gold or platinum, selling five million copies. She has produced six No. 1 hits and 14 Top Fives.
