Interview about WWI
- Transcript
Mexico was actually thinking about invading the United States. Really? Yeah. And they wanted their states back that we had. And in the process, Germany heard about this and Germany said, hey, we'll sponsor it, we'll pay for it, we'll give you the weapons. They sent that over the airwaves and Britain heard it. And when they were selling the telegram and Britain even battled amongst themselves whether or not they should tell America because they wanted us in the war. So they thought, well, maybe this would be a way to get them in. But then they realized it would backfire them down the road. So they went ahead and told us about it. It was called the Zimmerman Telegram. And that's how all this happened.
