There we go. Michelle Dalton is a performance board who has visited us here, visited us here, sorry. Michelle Dalton is a performance board who has visited us here from time to time. He returns today in the company of Aretha Edmonds and Margot Gadsden to perform a piece that they call Sirius Love. I urge you therefore, my brethren, by the mercies of God to present your bodies a living sacrifice acceptable to God, which is your reasonable spiritual service of worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is true, good and perfect. For through the grace given to me, I say to every man among you not
to think more highly of himself than he ought to think, but to think so as to have sound judgment as God has allotted to each a measure of faith, just as there are many members in one body and all the members do not have the same function. So we who are many are one body Christ and individually members one of the other and since we have gifts that have been given to us according to grace, let each exercise them accordingly. If prophecy according to one's faith. If service in his serving are he who teaches in his teaching. Are he who exhorts in his exhortation? He who gives with liberality. He who leads with diligence. He who gives mercy with cheerfulness. Let love be without hypocrisy. And who or what is evil? Cling to what is good and be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Give preference to one another in honor, not lagging
behind in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord, rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulations. Devoted to prayer, contributing to the needs of the saints. Practicing hospitality. Bless those who would persecute you. Yes, bless and curse not. And rejoice with those who rejoice. Weep with those who weep. Be of the same mind with one another. Do not be hearty in mind, but associate with the lowly. Do not be wise in your own estimation. And never, never pay back evil with evil to anyone. Respect what is right in the sight of all men. If possible, as far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men. Never take out your own revenge, beloved. But leave room for the wrath of God. For it is written, vengeance is mine. I will repay, says the Lord. But if your enemy is hungry, feed him.
And if he is thirsty, give him a drink. For in doing so, you will heat burning coals upon his head. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. We take that just a moment ago. And now we're joined by Michelle Margo and Aretha. Welcome. Michelle, your performance poetry pieces seem to have changed from when I first met you. That militant hard edge is gone. It's replaced by something else. Tell me about it. Well, excuse me. It's more like I've always sought out answers. The problems are very intense problems. And I always sought out the solution to the
problem. And it appears to me that the only one holding the solution is God himself. And I don't want to sit here and say that I've gone through this miraculous change because I'm still in the process of going through it. But the truth has been made known to me and the truth is if I want to see and live the right thing, submission to God is the only way. Margo, as an actress, do you have the same feeling about this kind of work or is it just another role for you? No, I have the same feeling and whatever that I'm doing, especially in acting, I would like for it to be to the glory of God. And I believe that the purpose for all of us being here is to give God glory and praise. And I especially love doing this type of work in acting, something that's geared more towards sending out the message of the gospel because I guess I should say it's just something that's in me and it's just more comfortable, even more so comfortable.
Well, let's see if the trio completed. What about you? I agree. The same motion is second to motion, third to motion. Yes, I believe the same thing. We are acting, I am acting, doing this into the glory of God. Tell me about serious love, Michelle. I have been long time concerned with the community. And I believe that the solution to a lot of our problems lie in our ability to have positive relationships with one another, whether it be male, female, mother, daughter, son, father, uncle, honor, just friends. I believe that our progress lies in positive relationships. Do you include strangers in that equation? Yes. Because I know you were the victim of a mugging not too long ago at the hands of another brother. Yes, I was. But I also have to bring the truth out about that. I could read and rave about, oh, I got robbed and I'm so angry. But the truth of the matter
is that on that particular evening, the Bible speaks of not really partaking in strong drink. And that particular evening, I was drunk. Now had I not been drunk, had I not been in the situation for that to happen, had I been doing what God has commanded us to do, I would not have been robbed. And that is the truth. Serious love is, you know, we're going to use performance poetry, music, song. And it's about, we're going to start at the basic lust vibe. And we're going to run the gambit using all the artistic endeavor. And we're going to arrive at the true, serious love of God and how that relates to us. It sounds like an interesting show. You ladies enjoy being involved in something like that? Yes. Okay. Yes. Yes, yes. It's been actually one thing that's really wonderful about it is that people have come to a point where a lot of times people don't believe that they can have a serious and wonderful relationship. But they can. But they can. If God is the center of that relationship, it can be very wonderful.
Not to say that there won't be misunderstandings and other things like that. But there is a key. Well, we appreciate you all being here and we appreciate your performance and we remind you that on September 10th, you can see what serious love is really like. Just get on over to Ramsey's too for more information on the performance. You can call 371 -5 -036. That number again is 371 -5 -036. I have to show you this before we go. This came from James Sullivan. James is an inmate at Western Penitentiary. He and I have corresponded and I have met with him on several occasions. He did this from the radio talk show that I do WCXJ -1550. James, it's beautiful. I appreciate it and I will always keep it near and near and close to my heart. Well, that wraps up another Black Horizons for this week. I'm glad you joined us and I hope that you'll also tune in to Black Talk on WCXJ -1550 on your AM dial. I'm there every weekday from 7 to 10 in the morning. If I don't see you here, I'll hear you there. Bye.

He was later joined by Emmy winning producer Minette Seate before the program evolved into WQED’s Horizons in the 2000s.
